Andre Lott Let GO..
Associated Press
7/30/2005 6:40:34 PM
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Veteran linebacker Mike Barrow was waived Saturday by the Washington Redskins while safety Andre Lott was let go after agreeing to an injury settlement.
Barrow, a 12-year veteran, missed all of last season due to tendinitis in his left knee and attempted to come back this off-season, working out at Redskins Park regularly. He had spent most of his career with Carolina and the New York Giants.
Lott, a fifth-round pick in the 2002 draft, had suffered a hairline tibia fracture on the last day of the June 17-19 minicamp but was expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Not really surprising. I'm sorry it happened. Andre Lott kind of grew on me, but hopefully he'll be back one day down the line.
As for Barrow, you can't miss what you never had.

hmm...that doesnt surprise me one bit--seeing as how we signed prioleau, STaylor will (hopefully) be with us this season, Ryan Clark is still here, BOWEN comes back from injury, we just have a plethora of guys at the safety spot and someone had to go...and it would be Andre. although he was a serviceable player, he was less than great and i think we did better, but best of luck to him and if he wants to come back im sure Coach Williams can find a place for him--after all he did start one game for STaylor
Barrow--as 0-16-16-0 said, can't miss what you never had.
best of luck to both these guys, and more importantly, even better luck to the guys who are going to take their spots.

I agree. Andre Lott was a solid player for us last season and doesn't deserve to be treated like that. Ray Brown is only playing because Joe needs his leadership and he is a very solid backup. Why would anyone hope for his dismissal? He is doing US the favor. Some people's mentality really confuses me. How can you go thru life like that? Does it hurt?

I liked him too. I hope he comes back to the roster sometime in the future.
I suspect that this was done due ONLY to his injury.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Well we now know who didn`t win the race for the MLB spot as Barrow is on his way. Another expensive waste of time and effort - his contribution to the cause was to keep the medical team busy. Still it will be interesting to see who does get the starting spot. Marshall, Allen, Holdman or any of the draftee LBs ? Game on !
Lets go Redskins !

I see Marshall and Holdman starting. Lavar is not consistent enough (injury wise) to put in that outside spot preseason.

I know this guy named Jimmy, he has a pet....POSTERNUTBAG! Thats his cats name, POSTERNUTBAG!!!

Ray Brown is THE NFL professional and Rock is a solid performer on ST -- perhaps on short yardage duty this season.
Do this board a favor and return to the Cowpukes covered rock you crawled out from under. Your posts are valueless and seldom have any meaning whatsoever.

Redskins4life... name calling and personal attacks are not permitted outside of the Smack forum... no matter how useless and pathetic the posts of some users are.
Folks.. don't feed the trolls who just like the sound of their own keyboard keys clicking. If you guys don't know what this guy is all about, then you're not paying attention much.
Trying to have a one-way conversation is ALWAYS an exercise in futility and that's all you're going to experience.

Thanks, BossHog. My thought exactly. Obviously, this person who makes these posts (we all know who I'm talking about) is desperate for attention and can only find it by striking other's nerves in a negative manner. Ignore him/her/whatever and hopefully they'll go away.

Barrow is going to pull a trotter on us if he gets healthy. If he was 90% or better there is no doubt he was our starting middle linebacker for next season. Now that we have some cap room I would like to add some depth at d line. Im worried if Cornilius Griffin goes down I feel our whole defense will.
