Who is the new #2 Receiver?

Post by Skins2theBowl »

Now that Rod "50/50" Gardner is gone who will be our #2 receiver? Im going to give the early nod to Kevin Dyson.
Prediction: 9-7 in 2005 and just squeezing into the playoffs

he won't be the number two receiver just yet or even for a while, but i think damien harrell is going to surprise a lot of people in camp...i live in denver and he's had a lot of hype here the last few years so i started watching him...he runs a 4.2 and he's tall. people said the only reason he didn't go to the nfl was cause his hands were suspect, but he's proved himself in arena league. i'm glad we got him

Doesn't matter who is the #1 or #2 in this offense, everyone will have a chance to produce. If I had my say, Moss, Patten, Jacobs, Mccants, Thrash, Dyson. Cooley will even be lined up in the slot and that also goes for Portis. Plenty of options.

I think Moss will be the #1 and Patten will be #2. My heart tells me that McCants will be #3 and Jacobs will be #4 and Thrash #5. I can't see Dyson beating them out.

You can't catch balls if your not on the roster.

1/2 - Moss/Patten (just like our cornerbacks last year, no clear cut 1)

3/4- McCants/Thrash/Dyson (reciever by committee)

And we all know Thrash will be active for every game because he is MR. SPECIAL TEAMS!!

1- Moss
2- Patten
3- Jacobs/McCants/Thrash

Moss and Patten are the starters and Jacobs, McCants and Thrash share the third position.

I would rather not have a big #1 guy. If everyone is a target and a good receiver, then their #1 corner won't be sucha bog influence and our Offense will always have options, plus Cooley and Portis as alluded to earlier in this thread.

Then again, I wouldn't mind the Lions big 3...

Patten and Moss 1 and 2 with Jacobs inserting himself into the starting lineup by week 8. Not sure who he'll replace, but I suspect it will be Moss. Joe may not want to hurt any feelings though, so he may opt to rotate Patten, Moss and Jacobs evenly...

I do think we will be playing a lot of receivers much like Williams does with defensive lineman and linebackers.

It may come down to Moss, Patten, and Jacobs all being on the field for 50% of the plays. Who knows for sure, but I expect to see a huge year from Jacobs regardless.

If Moss gets hurt, he will definitely lose his starting job though.

I think McCants will surprise alot this year.
He has the skills to be a #2 receiver but would be dangerous in the slot.

If Patten and Moss are getting pushed around to much in preseason, look for McCants to get his big chance.

Is it true that we didn't get the AFC guy? I was hoping for him to be a hidden gem.

End of the Article

I was kind of surprised by this. I saw him in the Arena Leagues (Don't ask why I watched, the NFL can't get started quick enough) and he was a beast there. But then again tha's like a 50 yard field.

Oh well. At least we won't have to wonder what if we signed him?

I'm optimistic about Moss Patten Jacobs with appearances by McCants and Dyson. But if WR is a problem this year, the sting of not TAKING MIKE WILLIAMS with no.5 could be too much. Santana and Patrick need to become like Harrisson and Manning. They should be working extra after practice perfecting timing.
