WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO Good bye! I cannot say I'll miss him but I'm glad something has finally been done with him.
Whenever I start to get blue, I just breathe!

Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"

Murfdawg...I merged this into a related topic and to the proper forum. Thanks.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I cant imagine getthing anything better than a 3rd rounder for him, but kudos to the team regardless for getting him out of the way before this thing turned into a big mess.

Great News!!! We got something for him, and dumped the salary. I would be surprised if it is a first day pick....probably a late round pick. If the pick were a first day pick we could have done the deal before this year's draft. I can't see a team offering more this close to Gardner being cut. Let's hope I'm wrong. Another thought....is this a prelude to signing one or more of our first round picks Anybody hear any news on the status of negotiations?

I seem to remember that Rod was unwilling to re-do his contract in order to complete a trade. That's a facter making him hard to trade. How much are you going to give up for a player who is a free agent next January.
I wonder if he agreed to do a new contract with the Panthers? I'd really be surprised if we got much for him. I wonder if the pick we get is dependent on his playing time.
Go Skins!!!
I was reading in the paper today about this dwarf that got pick pocketed. How could anyone stoop so low?

I'd be surprised if we got more than a 6th round pick.

I'm represnting the Redskins on a Panthers board... My argument starts about halfway down page 3 of this defending the Redskins.

I am defending Ramsey right now on page four, but please noone sign up over there just to troll.

I never disliked Rod. I think our moving him has more to do with attitude then talent. Everyone talks about his hands but what I noticed was his inability to create separation. Didn't Rod play college at Clemson? Maybe those Carolina fans are remembering him as he was in college.

Add to the fact he couldn't break a tackle to save his gold teeth/ life.....just makes me giddy that his worthless carcass is not tainting this team anymore.
Hopefully next is Worthless Rock Cartwright and then maybe Mr. Can't Get Right. (One can hope can't he?)
***Poster of the Year*** Hail to the Redskins. Everything else is inferior. Guess who's not a HOMER on this site.

PERFECT
almost certainly, the draft pick for Gardner will be conditional. Gardner was about to be cut, and Carolina knew it. They would have to compete with Seattle and 29 other teams who could have signed him.
The Skins are luckly that somebody was willing to give up a 7th round pick but if Gardner should have a certainl amount of catches or playing time, perhaps the Skins will catch a break and pick up a 6th round pick. I think the trade serves both teams well.
Now the Skins have just picked up a draft pick for next season and have cleared over 2 million dollars in cap space, allowing them to sign Carlos Rodgers.
