Yeah, waking up everyday with a knee that you're barely able to walk on is very easy.

Almost a full year of working out and rehabbing the knee must be a breeze, too.

We have two of the most untradeable guys on our roster.

You are absolutely correct as evidenced by the homers that like to stick up for unproductive, salary cap draining, loser players and in return hate people that try to rock their bandwagon.

Some time ago I said these words: Barrow is done.
I don't really understand why people have been plugging him into mock lineups and planning around him because anybody who hasn't played in 2 years and has a lingering injury that just keeps going on and on and on...is obviously done.

That brings up another point which I have been wondering about...and that is why in the world has Joe Gibbs kept him around and been saying that they are looking forward to getting him on the field. Barrow is not only done, but has been done for some time. Gibbs does and says some strange things.

What is the point of keeping him around? We're not going to get anybody to trade for a 35 year old linebacker who is done. I simply don't understand.

I guess Joe, like the rest of us, was holding out hope that we could get something out of our investment in Barrow. Personally, I am still holding out hope that he will play for us this year. If he is the one seeking a trade, it seems to me that he still thinks he can play. He may not think he will be able to start here, and is looking for a better situation. I will be sorry to see him go.

See?

Not even a remote response -- total waste of time.

If I coached the Skins there would be no mouths on this team and no gimpy-getting paid to do nothing-posers either.

ROTFALMAO.

Proof positive of your own over-inflated value of your posts. I'm sure you know a lot more about interacting with people and players than Joe Gibbs does ( hence your over-whelming alienation from the rest of the board ). You couldn't get a fan to take a single cue from you but now you're going to get the multi-million dollar players to follow your lead?

That may be one of the most naive, wrongly- placed, conceited posts that this board has ever seen.

And as usual, you didn't address a single case point I brought up... you just turned tail and ran and called everyone a homer.

Good luck with that... maybe someone will give you a lollipop for being such a good boy.

I won't even touch on the fact that in the modern day NFL, the salary cap often dictates what moves can or can't be made... regardless of what a team might want to do... a fact completely lost on you. You'd cut lavar Arrington and pay him $35 Million to NOT play for us? Then you'd cut JJ because he got hurt last year... even though he played in 132 consecutive games before that, is our team leader and a great tackle. Brilliant. You should defiitely be a GM somewhere with that insight.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

One word, "HOMER!" Sorry, I couldn't resist. Oh wait, I'm not sorry. And I, for one, am very glad you don't coach the 'Skins. You're opinions are without value and you are the real Poser. Friggin cowpukes fans always on this site...
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

I agree -if- he is taken seriously, which I, and his growing fan base, do not anymore.

But it is the most laughable post of the year if it is taken in its proper context.

2005 = Cap savings of 1.74M which put the Skins at close to 4M under the cap right now.

The Skins will carry 1.66M in dead money because of this move, but his cap hit next year would have been close to 3.5M

Barrow Waived; MLB Battle Narrows

The Redskins have decided to part ways with injured linebacker Mike Barrow, the team announced on Saturday. Barrow, a 12-year veteran, was released by the Redskins 15 months after signing with the team via free agency.

Barrow missed all of the 2004 season due to tendinitis in his left knee. He was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 24 after being inactive for the first 11 games.

Barrow attempted to come back this offseason, working out at Redskins Park regularly. He played for Redskins' assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams from 1993-96 when both were in Houston.

During the June 17-19 mini-camp, Barrow worked out for the team's athletic trainers, including director of sports medicine Bubba Tyer, and the prognosis was more positive than it had been at any point in 2004. But team officials cautioned that Barrow's status remained uncertain.

With Barrow's departure, the training camp competition for the starting middle linebacker job has narrowed. This is expected to be among the most closely watched competitions during training camp, which starts Aug. 1 at Redskins Park.

Veterans Warrick Holdman and Lemar Marshall are thought to be the leading candidates, but youngsters Clifton Smith, Brian Allen, Brandon Barnes and rookie Robert McCune are also in the mix.

I can't believe Lott was let go too

Glad Barrows gone, would rather have someone young step in so we would have a linebacker for future, Barrow is a one year guy who is questionable, and Lott I really could care less about him hes good depth but we have plenty of other guys back there including one of my favorites Ryan Clark. As far as the MLB position who I want to start is Mccune, but who I expect to start is Marshall or Holdman, I just cant see GW and Gibbs not being loyal to Marshall because he played his heart out last year, and They didn't bring in Holdman in for nothing, but if we have an injury in the middle I see Mccune getting some time. Put it this way we have 2 solid guys for 3-4 formations
" But you should've seen Joe (Gibbs) when they said he couldn't coach anymore...his chest puffed out and said..i dont care what it takes, were not leaving here without another ring." Coach Joe Bugel

I wanted Barrow to actually play for us, but I can see why he was let go. And the only time I see McCune playing a significant role this year is in the Preseason. McCune is a great story and all, but he is still a rookie who is fairly new to football. With all the veteran LB's on the team, I see this as a learning experience for McCune.
