Javon Walker...wouldn't be nice?

Post by oafusp »

I just heard on NFL Total Access that Green Bay sent him a letter that they won't bargain with him, and the Drew Rosenhaus will force a trade.

The guy is a young stud. He'll be elite in a year or two.

I wonder what the Skins could do to get him?

Maybe package Rod Gardner, or Taylor, and a draft pick for Walker?

To be honest, Santana Moss and Patten don't impress me. Give Ramsey a PLAYMAKER!!!!

Wouldn't mind having him at all, but really doubt were going to pursue

I think we need a bigger WR but Gibbs won't want him.

Another draft pick? Nope I'll pass. Im tired of giving away draft picks.

If we could do a swap with Rod and another WR then maybe... :?

Ill be happy with the WR corps we have for the time being. Patten and Moss are good players, McCants may step it up and Jacobs is always mentioned by Joe.

We have more pressing needs to address, WR is a want not a need at this point.

In this case it would be a bigger, better, costlier receiver.
Blame it on Coles' huge cap hit. It paralized us this season for WR's that are available.

Maybe we can get the rookies signed, and use Gardners cap money for some trade like this, afterall Rosenhaus is in with the Skins.

I can't get over how many elite players are potentially available due to contract disputes.

Id feel a bit more comfortable with a big WR also but would it be wise to get another WR with our cap situation?

You're right

Post by Skins Do Dallas »

Yeah man, i doubt joe will want him since we have already invested in so many other WR's. i think that is our deepest position actually. i would, however like to get rid of gardners ass and if taylor is gonna be "mr. thug man", then we'd be better off w/o him too.

He does not sound like a gibbs type player. The last thing we need is a player who will hold out for a new contract. Character counts!

Oafusp... I was thinking about this yesterday myself, I was pretty surprised to see someone was thinking about getting Walker also. While thinking I encountered a problem? What could the Packers want that we could give up for Javon? The only person I could think of was maybe Sean Taylor but despite his legal problems I'm weary of getting another big name reciever for potentially the greatest safety of all time (Maybe Sean can clean his act up? I think he's gonna learn his lesson after this shenanigan) Plus, would the Packers accept a troubled young player like Taylor despite his amazing talent? Who do you think we could trade for Walker besides Taylor?

I'm thinking Rod Gardner and you know Dan Snyder loves trading draft picks.

Sean Taylor better than Ronnie Lott, Lynch, Woodson, Reed?

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..........NO.

As for Walker, I say NO too we will win or lose with what we have barring any major injuries.

Lynch is WAY overrated, but the other three are better than ST at this point. ST has the ability to at least pass Woodson and Reed (and is already past Lynch).

Taylor, assuming he gets his act straight, will far surpass John Lynch and Rod Woodsen. Maybe not Lott, but possibly, and he can be every bit as good as Ed Reed

TRADE SEAN TAYLOR???????????????

Did I watch different games than the rest of you guys last season?? Yes he is obviously a complete headcase and yes he is in some very serious legal troubles, but the guy is an UNBELIEVABLE football player.

I have never in my life seen a rookie player have such an awesome season and then witnessed his own team's fans talking about trading him or cutting him.

I know he's an idiot and he's in trouble but let's face it, he's a star and he's probably going to get away with it.

Also, Sean Taylor as a rookie was better than John Lynch in his prime.

Sean Taylor at Miami was better than John Lynch in his prime.

I say send Brunells ass back to where he came from. Let him sit on the bench behind Favre again! haha

The think with Javon is that HE DESERVES a new contract. It's not like he just signed his current deal last year (TO). Most teams recognize the fact that a young guy is the real deal and lock him up a year or two before his rookie contract expires. It's almost the norm.

But every now an then you get a team that doesn't do it. They wait for the player to finish their contract before giving an extension. And with the Packers in Cap Hell they have no choice right now.

Enter Rosenhaus, he'll make this ugly, and he kind of has the right to in this case. It's not Javons fault that the Packers couldn't manage the cap.

Anyway, the kid is a good person, no issues like Taylor. I don't care what was given as long as it was fair for both teams. Walker is the real deal and he would make Santana better by taking some heat off of him.

Just my 2 cents

Javon is in the 4th year of a 5 year deal and only scheduled to make about 500K this year. He was a top 5 receiver last year and should get a new contract.

The Packers don't have the cap space and neither do we, but it would be nice.

We could send them Ade Jimoh  and 50/50

If we can get Walker, it's playoff time. We should bust our butts to get this guy. We could trade current WRs and MLBs with a couple of exceptions ( don't trade Moss, Taylor, Patten, McCune, Marshall, Smith). Do trade draft picks, etc. We've got to drop WRs and MLBs anyway. Get Walker! Next year or sooner-- a DE and TE.

Let's trade everyone. Take the cap hit on all the prorated bonuses of the players traded. There is no cap in '07 let's offer him P. Manning money. :o

Isn't it funny how Green Bay always seems to find all pro receivers. That team is really good at finding guys who can catch 75-90 balls for a 1100 yards and catch 10 TD's. In fact every single year they have 1 or 2 guys like this and yet they always find a new one to replace the old one.

You don't think that Favre guy could have something to do with it do you? You don't think that maybe that H.O.F. quarterback is turning average to good receivers into something special...do you?

Imagine what the Redskins receivers could do having the ball thrown to them every time instead of behind them or in front of them or over their heads. Walker would have caught about 50 balls last year with the Redskins, with Mark Brunell throwing to him.

Lets start focusing on the QB instead of the receivers. The problem for the last 12 years has been the QB spot more than the reciver spot. Lets just face it.
