Boss...just a thought here...maybe you could come up w/a section just for posts of people trying to sell their tickets...maybe require a 'donation' of $10 or something to list them. As you can see...tix will sell w/in minutes and because of that, listing them here would certainly have value to someone looking to sell them. I've seen a poster or two pop up from time to time w/the sole purpose of just selling their tix...and that's not what the site is all about. Donating a couple of tickets is great if someone can afford it...but that might mean a loss of a couple of hundred bucks to someone and they might be unwilling to do that...so picking up a few bucks here and there might add up to enough to purchase a couple to tickets that could then be donated.
One other thing...in that section, you could probably set up a couple of affiliate sites....to ebay and other ticket sites etc that would pay a royalty to the site for steering traffic their way...again...you guys are the experts...just thinking out loud here.
Just add a 25th hour to the day and I'll get right on all of that.
During the preseason and regular season, there will be ticket broker links on the main page of the site, and likely where the Google Ads are on the message boards now. You can always buy tickets from them, and you are supporting the site every time you click on one of the links.
If a post-er signs up for the board solely for the purpose of selling a pair of tickets and posts without asking for permission from a moderator... 9 times out of 10 it will get dumped.
I don't want money for tickets... nor do i want to try and buy tickets by earning $5-10 a time... it isn't worth trying to track properly.
People come across tickets in many different ways.. some buy them, some win them, some get them in promotions... all we're saying is if you can't get rid of them... and can't recoup your money (I obviously understand that this is what most people will want to do)... then donate them to the site and we'll put them in the hands of someone not fortunate enough to be able to go to a game normally.
Last thing... we are dedicated to trying to keep Redskin tickets in the hands of Redskins fans. In fact, that's why we do most of the things the way that we do with tickets... if someone sins up for the board solely for the sake of selling tix but ASKS permission... we'll grant it 9 times out of 10 because we know that they'll get picked up likely and go into the hands of a Redskin fan. We WILL eventually have a ticket exchange section... somewhere to post both selling and buying requests... without a doubt... like I said, if you can find a way to get me another hour in a day, I might be able to slot it in before the season.
But we will get it done... eventually. We're not going anywhere.
Thanks for the feedback.
