i like the freeney/peppers picks, but i have to go for a receiver. i'd take andre johnson from the houstons. he's a stud, plus he's young and has the size to compliment our existing small/fast WRs.
also, i don't see how you can pick bubba franks. if you want to go tight end, why not pick antonio gates?

Moss he would allow Portis to have that 9 yards per carry and Pepper on defense would give our D some diffrent looks.

I think it's got to be a player who suits what you have with the rest of your team. If you add a player to the rest of the mix it would be important to consider that player that will make the rest even better. If you consider a defensive player then I would let Greg choose who he thinks could help the D and the same for the offense.

Right now I'd say that Joe needs a "player" more than Greg and I'd find that player that would suit the rest of the offensive players and would make them better. A players stats should really be looked at as to how he helps his team. The most important guy on offense is the QB so I'd pick a QB that would suit Gibbs' offense.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think it has to be Tom Brady! He is the prototypical Gibbs QB. He's a pocket passer who moves very well in the pocket and NEVER makes a mistake. Sure the OC is gone in NE right now but Gibbs isn't too bad himself.

Peppers is a close second. Then I would say Chad Johnson. He may be a pain in the ass but he is really an incredible athlete (have you seen the Battle of the Gridiron Stars -- every week he blows away the competition in the obstacle course doing his pimp walk and using one hand to pull up his shorts, he makes the other guys look like High School players trying to make the team and at the end he isn't breathing hard or sweating after blowing past Westbrook and anyone else who tries to compete). I seriously think that after this season he will be regarded as the best WR in football, the guy can flatout play and he's young.

It should probably be a star QB. Manning tends to choke in the big games, and most of that offense revolves around the one-two punch anyway - Manning & Harrison. I would probably take Brady.

Other than that, I'll take a healthy LaVar anyday.

McNabb, added bounus... weaken a division rival.
In memorium Sean Taylor 1983-2007 R.I.P.

Greetings from NYC: Joe Montana on offense, LT on defense. The former skins would be Big John Riggins on offense and Captain Jack Pardee on the defense and just for the heck of it Ken Houston!

Defense- Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (he's a beast on the Defensive Line, which we need)
Offense- Chad Johnson (if he can be the AFC leading receiver with the Bengals, just think what he can do with the Skins)

It's worth repeating.

But if our friend from NY wants to dream about older players, I would pick Sonny Jurgenson. He's only about 20 years older than Ray Brown. He hasn't lost a step. He's in great shape -- people on the board say he has even lost some weight. Sonny could always spot an open receiver a few seconds before he came open, and has such a quick release that the ball is away before the defender even has that first quiver of fear -- ouch, there goes Charley Taylor.

Of course, I would request that LT not play against the Redskins. Not unless Jim Lachey came back to block.

Ahhh, the days!

You know Welch, you and may be the only ones that might remember those good old days. My Dad & I have had seasons tickets since RFK opened. I was in the Cotton Bowl in late 60's, after a typical back in forth game, watching Sonny, with his arm around the ref, waiting for the clock tick down, so Gogolak could come in and kick the winning field goal to beat the Cowpukes. We had spent the night in Dallas at the Marriott. Well guess who else was there? The whole Redskins team was staying there. It was too cool standing around in the motel with the entire team before they left to go to the Cotton Bowl for the game. Seeing all of our Skins and actually getting a chance to join in and talk with them was a dream come true. Sonny was there talking with his good friend, golfer Ray Floyd, who was there to go to the game also. Charley Taylor & Bobby Mitchell, Brig Owens, and on and on. What a great weekend!

Marvin Harrison, no if ands or buts. Plays the game like it was meant to be played and you dont hear anything from him.

Past Players: Cris Carter and Reggie White both for the possibility to talk some sense into Sean Taylor.

Carter did not do any good to Moss and White did not do any good to the whole Eagles team that's why he left for Green Bay! [-X

I don't understand how anyone could NOT take a QB. Whether it's Manning, Brady, McNabb or whoever you like best, you have to take one of them. This franchise has struggled for over a decade to find a truly great QB that they can count on year in and year out. Would any of you actually pass on the opportunity to get a player like that to get a WR? Come on.

Also, if you're gonna take a safety it makes a lot more sense to take Ed Reed over Roy Williams.

Roy plays FS, same as Sean, whereas Reed is a SS.

Roy still struggles in pass coverage....a lot.

Reed is better than Roy.

Manning hands down. He will take us to the promised land in a flash. I think Ramsey is totally capable but in time and we dont have time

Manning? He would leave after the first play. The reason Pat struggles is because he doesnt have enough time in the pocket.

Rod Coleman. A freak pass rusher on the inside. Every Falcons game I watched he was totally un-blockable.
