ok. as of right now, no salary cap, no other 'ifs, ands, or buts'. you can add a single player to the skins, regardless of team, contract or past, who would it be?

just curious

Peyton Manning...easy he would just make us the perfect team, even though I think Ramsey is capable of taking us there, Peyton would do it faster lol. If not him then I would have to say Chad Johnson, love his swagger and his desire the be the best there ever was, love it

Does this mean you have nobody on your team and you want a building block or do you mean one player to add to the current Redskins squad?
If we have to build around one player: Peyton Manning
If we have to add to our current squad: Roy Williams (Dallas Safety)

Why Williams? Well ask yourself this.... How in the world can an offense pass against a starting secondary of Springs, Rogers, Taylor, and Williams. The tandem of Taylor and Williams would be dangerously scary for any receiver in the NFL. People like Terrell Owens and Randy Moss would get Todd Pinkston syndrome and bring out alligator arms/bodies. Run games would be screwed as well cause the front seven of our D is already amazing while Williams will add an element of fierce intensity and violence to our run support game. Wow.... If Snyder EVER gets the chance to snag a guy like Roy Williams he should do it. LaVar for Roy anybody?

Hopefully there isn't any team in the NFL in our current situation (i.e. not completely sold on a QB as their guy for the present and future) that would pass on Peyton Manning.

Of course I'd take Manning. He's the best QB in the NFL and would immediately make us a playoff team and a Super Bowl contender.

Yea, Peyton Manning. Too easy. Maybe should have had a poll asking for any player other than Peyton Manning.

I'd say PEYTON MANNING too.

He is another mold of the great QB's, he's got a lot in the tank and will be breaking records for the next 8-10 years. He is professional, dedicated, and a total team player. Text book NFL QB.

Another is ANDRE JOHNSON, young and extremely talented. Very professional. One of the only guys out of The U that's not a head case. He will be an elite WR for years to come.

As far as defense, I'd want ED REED in exchange for Sean Taylor. Ed is what Sean should be minus the drama. And of course, JULIUS PEPPERS. The guy is great. Extremely athletic. Makes plays. Young.

Can't pick just one. I could go on and on!
How about asking "Pick One Redskin to Keep".

Easy.

Chad Johnson. He is a top 5 WR. He is still young. He's got great speed. (Ask Champ!) Great Size ( 6-2 200) And possibly the best hands in the national football league. He runs crisp routes (again Ask Champ)

His swagger, is what I love most about him. He is so confident in his ability, that you know he is never going to be that player who is on the sidelines pouting. He is also an absolute character. He reminds me a lot of Clinton Portis.

Also Did you see what he did to Champ on Monday Night Football?

To quote Chad Jonson "I got a trivia question for you,
How do you stop 85? I still don't got the answer to that question"

BTW if CJ ever becomes a skin that quote is going in my sig.

"Big time Players make Big Time Plays in Big Games !!!"- Santana Moss Redskins WR during an upset by The U over Florida Sate

I LOVE the call on Peppers. Having a pass rusher like him to add to the group of playmakers we already have on defense would make us the #1 D in the league. He'd be my first pick of defensive players.

I still don't see any way I could pass up Manning tho. Considering all the drama the Redskins franchise has had at the QB spot over the last decade plus, how in the world could you pass on an opportunity to add the best QB of his generation in the prime of his career?

i would pick ray lewis or Ed reed

just think of our linebacker core if we had Lewis. Ray, arrington, and washington...who'd wanna face that?

and ed reed and sean taylor would reek havoc in the backfield.

and if i had to pick a offensive player...i suppose our weakest spot is our WR We have no real superstars, only guys out to prove themselves this year. So if i had to pick one it'd definitely be chad johnson. I particularly like the fact that he burned the snot outa champ bailey last year hehe.

so yea..any one of these would be great!!

I'd take Vilma over Ray Lewis. Ray's best days are behind him. The serious shoulder injury he had altered him. He is not as dominating as a few years back. I'd take Ray if it was 2000 though!

I think Chad Johnson is a younger version of T.O., he is annoying as hell. I don't think WR with gold fronts belongs in burgundy and gold.

For all the PEYTON MANNING voters, "In their own words" is on right now about him, NFL Network. It will probably be on all week. Great show. I LOVED the John Riggins "In their own words" episode.

starting a team from sratch, I'd go with Manning.

Adding any player to our current team, I'd add Dwight Freeney.

I think some of you guys are giving Patrick Ramsey WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much credit here.

I mean dont get me wrong, I like Pat and I see a ton of promise in Jason Campbell. But it would take a lot more than their potential to get me to pass up on Peyton Manning.

Bubba would be my selection as a addition to the current.

Selecting a player to build the Redskins around would be hard, I don't see Redskins as individual players, it's a team for me.
It wouldn't be Manning as many have sugested. Last I checked he hasn't won the big one yet (He's lost his lest game of the year for as long as I can remember).
Tom Brady might be a good choice two or 3 years ago (lets see how he plays under a new OC).

If I had to start all over and build a team it wouldn't be around one player. I'd identify a group of player that would fit into what I would be trying to do and go from there. I wouldn't worry about the coverage in the press (unless misquoted) I would do this year after year until I'd have a roster full of players that you could build a team around

It's not a matter of giving Ramsey too much credit. It's a matter of what puts us over the top. In this system, with these players, we don't need a superstar QB. We will succeed with who we have. The best thing we could add right now, would be a dominating DE. Ramsey only has to be above average for us to be very good on offense. I do think he will be solid, not just above average. A guy like Dwight would make our defense scary and by far #1...

Two things. If your picking one player to build a team around, it pretty much HAS to be the best QB in the league, or the best RB. Manning OR Tomlinson would be just as good in my view. Manning may not have won the big one yet, but he will. Last season he had a great game. His players dropped numerous easy passes, caused his 1 interception and fumbled the ball. Peyton played good enough to win that game.
