I just want to congratulate my son Jake on his upcoming Graduation tomorrow June 11, 2005 2:30 p.m. EST.
Sometimes I wondered if we would ever get to this point but you did it and you did it in fine fashion !! Tomorrow you will begin yet another journey in your life and I think you are ready for the world. Thanks to THN (Boss) for giving you the opportunity to utilize your writing skills and love for the Redskins on this great site. I'm sure the experience will help you in your journey to journalism / broadcasting (whatever you decide). Yes...I will cry tomorrow and probably embarrass you but I'm allowed - I'm your mom and I'm proud of you. Enjoy your day !! Keep up the good work !
I love you !

Joe Gibbs: Terri has a very good eye for talent.
Congrats Jake! For fun, during the ceremony, coutn how many times someone refernces your future, the path ahead and/or the greatest years of your life.
Terri: Buy an air horn, let him know you care. =)
Congrats Jake! And congrats to Terri too! I know you did alot to get him here. Parenting is a tough job and it helps when you have a great kid! Enjoy your day Jake and please don't moon the audience. When I graduated they gave us fakes during the ceremony and threatened to hold our real ones if we did anything stupid. Just an FYI.
Whenever I start to get blue, I just breathe!
My favortie line from the Simpsons:
Flanders: "Looks like someone is having a pre-rapture party!"
Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"
Congratulations to Jake and SkinsChic! It is a team effort after all
I wish you every success in your pursuit of your future studies and professional endeavours.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
But yeah, graduating high school is great, my little sister just graduated last month. (Hopefully your HS is smaller, we were packed like sardines into the indoor practice facilities for the Air Force's athletic teams. It was weird, I could see absolutely no use for the "arena" none of the big 4 would be played in there I was sure.)
Anyway, what are your college plans?
"Guess [Ryan Kerrigan] really does have a good motor. And is relentless. And never quits on a play. And just keeps coming. And probably eats Wheaties and drinks Apple Pie smoothies and shaves with Valvoline." -Dan Steinberg DC Sports Bog
Thanks everyone...I'm sure Jake will be on as soon as graduation practice is over around 4 p.m.
His graduating class is 451 strong - it's being held at an Equestrian Center / Show Place Arena which is plenty big enough. He's got "R" for the last name thing going on...so it will be a while before we see him cross the stage though.
Yes Niki...you're right..they get fake diplomas till it's over then they have to pick up the real one.
NC - he works at Friendly's though there's not a whole lot of difference...except Friendly's has better ice cream!! Ha ! I know about "almost" remembering the graduation thing...I graduated HS 31 years ago !! AHHHHHHHH ! That is enough to make me cry !!

Not right away. I will take some time off this summer and then I will probably attend Anne Arundel Community College.
I also hope I can intern at The Capital this summer. The Capital is the local Anne Arundel County newspaper based in Annapolis.
I will also continue writing for What's Up? Annapolis magazine, a local magazine right down the street from The Capital. My mom and I may also get press passes to roam the sidelines during training camp.
