season and trying

Post by hiphophog »

you almost dont want the season to start so it wont end

i can wait for the season starts and I honestly believe that the skins have a legit chance of going to the championship.
however, I dont think I can take going to fedex and getting all riled up; just to start clutchin my heart in the last 2 minutes because of some bs play that we couldnt prevent or doesnt make sense.
this team can make or break my enire week. :?

You just reminded me of the Green Bay game last year. I didn't even want to leave the stadium, thinking that WE should have won that game! The blown call at the end... :explode:

Last year was a trying season. Not to make excuses for an admittedly mediocre team, but didn't it seem like we had a LOT of bad breaks last season?

MNF game with Dallas: a TERRIBLE pass interference call gives Dallas a TD, and an inexcusable noncall on what shouldve been PI in the end zone on Newman, prevents the Skins from scoring. We lose by 3.

Sunday Night game with Baltimore: Despite Jamal Lewis' recent conviction of guilt, the league decides to begin his 2 game suspension AFTER they play the Redskins, for reasons that were never explained. Lewis runs for 100+ yards, and controls the clock during the 4th quarter in another close Redskins loss.

Packer game: The Redskins score what appears to be the game winning TD on a beautiful pass to Clinton Portis. Unfortunately, an incredibly cheap illegal motion call on James Thrash nullifies the play. I am not going to say the call was wrong. I am going to say that the exact same thing occurs with no call 90% of the time. It's not like if there had been no call the Packers would've complained. They probably did not even notice until the flag was thrown. Heartbreaking loss.

Sunday Night game with Philly: We had our chances in this one. Ramsey's big mistake at the end cost us this game. However, I can't let go of the fact that we were burned by ANOTHER terrible PI call on a long pass to T.O., setting up a TD in a game we lost by a field goal. It's just so frustrating.

And these are just the home games.

We had 5 seasons worth of bad luck in 2004. I'm hoping that this season the breaks will go our way.

Sweeeeeeeet.

Do you get that kind of primping for every game? Personally, I like the "open" seats (crazier atmosphere, I think), but gettin the fancy digs in the announcer's suite must be niiiiice - especially for the December games :D

Yeah i agree with JPM36... Most of our losses had been close games, rather very close games... Many of them with bull calls.
Hopefully we will excel and get better calls called this season.

Collinsworth is not at all positive towards the skins! in the words of Bill Walton "He's Hoooribblleee"
Collinsworth is always bashing the skins on the air....whenever he does our games.

What?

Collinsworthless is one of THE biggest Redskin hate-mongers going. I can't even listen to the guy. In fact... if it fit onto the screen of my Remote control, i'd replace the word 'Mute' with 'Collinsworth'.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

This guy is a joke!

This year I want to see the same intensity and hopefully we make our own "luck"! We did have a lot of things go "against" us BUT good teams seem to make things happen and I think if we can just continue to play with the intensity that we showed (plus some improved play calling) we will be a lot better this season.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Actually Collinsworth is one of the more generous media guys towards the Redskins. He believes in Gibbs more than the others, and he otherwise calls us out on blatant problems in the organization.

I think he likes the players on the team, but he, like everyone in the media, loves to hate Danny Snyder.

As sick as it makes me, Aikman and Moose are a pretty good duo in the commentary booth. Hate them as players for teh cowpukes, but as media guys they tell it as it is.

He likes Gibbs, so the bashing died down last year, from what I hear. There had been so much of it in years pass those of us that had already tuned him out wouldn't know anything about him being postive when discussing the Skins.

This may be true about the players but I don't see it. "the Danny" took a step back last year and they hate him for that.(he can't win)

Anyone that has worn the uni of that team in Texas has trouble overcoming my bias once they take it off, but they are getting there

I can't stand Collinsworth. He is such an arrogant baffoon. He rarely knows what he is talking about and always finds a way to slip uniteresting facts about what he did when he played the game. He is a moron. I have to mute the TV when he is commentating. He never has opinions of his own and it seems like he just reads NFL.com before each of his shows and spews out whatever has been written there.
