Here is my take on this:

Dan Snyder - ;furious; Then... :D (No New Contract)

Joe Gibbs - :hmm: then...... :thump: (benched)

Drew Rosenhaus - :explode: then...... #-o (No New Contract)

Sean Taylor - :moon: (in jail) then.... :-# (Hard lesson learned...no pun intended  )
In memorium Sean Taylor 1983-2007 R.I.P.

Long live the Legend of "Meast".

dammit sean. its people like him that really make me angry. If God blessed me with the athleticism and the ability of a person like him I'd be training even harder to become the best. I wouldn't be club hopping everynight and hanging with fools that get into crime scenes. what a waste of talent. although i'm really starting to hate his attitude his play on the field won't allow me to want to get rid of him. Im hoping this a phase that he'll just ride out and realize what hes doing is absurd. come'on sean, get your head right!

I didn't say what 'he HAS to be doing'. I said 'what he SHOULD'. He should be at Redskins Park and working with the team. Does he have to? No.

What a freakin' idiot this kid is. I am soooooooooooooooo glad I got the Cooley jersey instead of a Taylor jersey!

I agree with Hailskins666 100%. Last year, I certainly was on the Taylor bandwagon. This year, this immature little kid has done nothing but push my support far far away from him.

He needs to grow up...and he needs to grow up NOW!

Not sure if this is posted, but this report had more details that I had seen. Says that ST is suspected of firing a gun into someone's house who he suspected of stealing his car:

It was an ATV not a car. What an idiot. If you are making millions and someone steals a $3000 dollar ATV from you, you call the police, you don't take a gun over and start shooting at their house.

Disgusting. He is among the most talented players to enter the NFL over the past few years, and he is on the verge of squandering it. All so that he can satisfy his childish "gangsta" ego. Whether he fired the shots or not, wtf is this idiout doing hanging around with these idiots?

This should not surprise me at all, but it does... perhaps that is part of what is feeding my anger at this kid. His daddy needs to do something that he obviously didn't do while Sean was growing up... put him over his knee and whup his butt good.

If this kids Wonderlic score was in the postive numbers, I'm sure he cheated.

If he wants to salvage his life, he needs to do a few things...

1. Settle his account with the cops in Miami Dade, at least for now. I have a feeling that he needs a few things to go his way on that.

2. Get his butt up to DC, where Daddy Gibbs and Daddy Williams can begin to instill a little of the discipline that Daddy Taylor and the U of Miami coaches obviously never bothered with.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Question:

Is it a requirement that University of Miami football players have a single digit IQ and a quadruple digit ego? What's with that program? They seem to produce an awful lot of spoiled thugs.

ok, first of all, let's drop all of this "what if" nonsense about if Sean had been at OTA's. Those aren't babysitting sessions, they're light weight practices. So, he would have had plenty of time to roam the streets of D.C. (the nation's murder capital) and get into trouble if he wanted. After all, remember leonard little? He killed a woman in the off season in St. Louis while driving drunk. If Sean is going to get into problems, D.C. is no better a place than Miami, and may actually be worse. In Miami, Sean has his family, including a father whose a cop. Here, he as a bunch of guys in their early to mid 20's who have millions of dollars.

Next, it is interesting that in a country where he's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, the people who are jumping on him the fastest are the fans for his own team. Sounds almost Philly like. Look, clearly we'd all prefer if this didn't happen, if Sean spouted the same Patriot b.s. about "team," etc., but so far, he hasn't broken the law (he was acquitted), we don't know if he actually shot at anyone (foxsports if you remember is the network that predicted a blockbuster deal between the utah jazz and the lakers for koby bryant, a deal neitehr team had ever heard of).

everyone can say what they want about the D. williams is a hell of a coach that's developed a great system that has interchangeable parts. but, if you really believe that sean is one of those discardable parts than you didn't see what I or coach williams saw on the field. the guy is a game changer, and instead of jumping all over this 22 YEAR OLD, perhaps we should be in his corner until he gives you something to really turn you around. Giants fans put up with a coke freak who turned out to maybe be the greatest defensive player of all time. the 49ers let jerry rice miss everything until mandatory training camp...he turned out ok.

and, unless people misunderstand me, i'm not saying any of his activities so far are good or preferable. he should call coach gibbs back. he should let people know why he's still not in d.c. he should try to avoid playing pick up basketball, being involved in shootings, or getting pulled for drunk driving.

having said all that, we should remember that he's 22, a 2nd year player, and possibly a perfect combination of ed reed and roy williams. we should remember that gregg williams loves him, and was a big reason why we picked him. and, for all those people who constantly say how much we should trust coach gibbs, we should remember that gibbs called that draft pick "one of the most researched things in sports." if you want to trust in gibbs, than trust in him fully when he picked sean.

It is sad that somebody with such outstanding talent only comes with a 2 cent brain. Sean Taylor, if guilty of pulling the trigger, should be suspended without pay for the next season. He could use the time to seek counsiling to get his head on straight. While it will hurt to lose a fine player, the team will be okay if not even better since everybody will know he will not be causing anymore off field problems. I think the TEAM will have a good year. Hopefully Sean will see that he is not needed by the team and come back a better person.

God damnit....I had just bought a STaylor jersey. I thought I knew him....I thought he was going to be back during camp and prove his coaches wrong.
Now, I just hope all of this is a nightmare.

------

I wonder what JGibbs' response is going to be. I know he's going to be pissed off but do you think he is considering getting rid of ST?

if i was as big as Sean Taylor I think I would seriously kick his ass. It pisses me off when people like Sean who probably grew up in a nice little suburb with a stable home think hes "gangsta". he needs to lose the ego... This guy seriously thinks hes "hard" I wish he could go to the real ghetto one day and learn things the hard way. what a loser. I cant even describe what I feel for Sean Taylor. I love the man yet I hate him....

local CBS (channel 9) just reported that sean taylor has turned himself into the police.

he is being charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and simple battery (i'm pretty sure i heard that correctly-- he is definitely being charged though).

GOD ALMIGHTY I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS.

sean taylor officially charged

Post by die cowboys die »

i know there are other taylor threads but they are about a "rumor" etc. he has actually turned himself in and been charged with the following:

*aggravated assault with a firearm
*simple battery

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2075361

i heard the news "break" on the local CBS affiliate so i'm inclined to think it is reliable- i wouldn't be sure if it were just the ESPN link.
