What course?
My advice is to go the extra mile whenever dealing with any member. If you decide to stay in the area as an adult, one of them may just be the one hiring.

Right now, I'm a cook at Friendly's.
I started out as a dishwasher but I wanted to get out of the dishroom so bad.
They still stick me back there once a week because they have no one else (even after all the Friendly's employees in Upper Marlboro transferred to our place).
I love cooking. It's fun except some of the managers make the cooks pay the usual 50% off but the others don't care at all.

Back when this thread was first started, I wrote that I was a student at college. I still am, but it's finals week and I'll soon be heading to my summer job:
Maintenance work at a small private school in Annapolis. Landscaping is the big order this summer, with painting, cleaning AC units, cleaning out a drainage pond, roof work (ugh), and other things on the menu.
I'm also the "heavy lifting" department of our crew, which I enjoy a lot. I'm a drummer, and I fear cutting off my hands with powertools all the time, so other people handle buzz saws and the like, while I lift whatever they need moved out of the way. It works well for us. . .

Amen to that....I mantra I repeat to myself often "Be careful of the toes you step on today because it might be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow" It's so true...work hard and treat others well...in life and in business...and it will pay off
And, oh, my job......hmmm...not sure I want to disclose too much....Vice President of a marketing/communications company (and don't anyone ask "I thought you were a doctor???") -- though I'm keeping my eye out for something (lucrative, that is) in the No. VA/DC area.

Landscaping for the time being. Small operation but we're quite busy. Everything from cutting grass to mulch to paver walkways to excavating. I spent a few months working at the Sharper Image. Crappy job but great experience. I'm getting my paperwork in order to substitute teach and I'm back in college to become a history teacher.
Other than that I don't do too much

Just got hired as a FedEx courier here in good ol' London, ON.
@Hill66
It's a little late but Congrats on the FedEx job!
As for me I've actually been employed by the good ol' City of London for the last five years and counting. I work in Streets; in the summer I do road maintenance and in the winter I do snow removal. Prior to that I ran my own business 6 years.

Ah-ha! FINALLY I know who to ask: why's it so hard to get the potholes fixed right the first time????

If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?
