Is it too early to talk Playoffs....?
Of course it is. However, the way I see the NFC shaping up (I realize how far away the season is and everything that could happen between now and then, I just love to talk football) is this:
East
Champion- Eagles... these guys are clearly above the other 3 teams in the division. It would take something drastic, like TO sitting out the entire season and McNabb being hurt for most of the year for anyone to overtake them. Those are just the facts.
North
Champion- Vikings... they were probably better than the Packers last year, and with all the improvements they have made to their defense, and a weak offseason by the Packers, it looks like Freddie Smoot's new team is clear favorite in the NFC North.
South
Champion- Panthers.... I'm giving the edge to Carolina here over Atlanta. They had a ton of guys hurt last year and with everyone back healthy their defense looks just NASTY. They could end up winning the whole thing if they can stay healthy. That being said, I believe that whoever loses the division race between Carolina and Atlanta will at least secure a wildcard berth.
West
Champion- Whatever.... Seahawks....I guess? Maybe the Cardinals?? The Rams could be good....Who cares? This divison is easily the worst in football. The winner of this group will get the #4 seed in the NFC playoffs and there will be no wildcard team coming from here. That's all Redskins fans need to know.
So that makes 5 playoff positions filled, leaving one spot up for grabs. There is no other team in the NFC that is clearly better than we are at this point, so I see no reason why we couldn't be the team that gets it. If I had to point to one other team that is probably the best I'd go with New Orleans, but they also happen to be stuck in the toughest division in the conference which will surely hurt their cause. Plus there's the Jim Haslett factor. The Saints, the Cowboys, the Packers, the Skins should all be in the running for that 6th spot. And I see no reason why we can't be the team that wins it

Hey, I agree with you. But this year, for whatever reason, I have a feeling that we'll be able to to better than .500
Playoffs, I don't know yet. Too early to tell.....
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."
Heck, it's too early to start talking about camp !! There are so many things that can happen in between now and the end of August that it's simply ridiculous to try and get your predictions in.
You didn't exactly go out on a limb with your East pick, though. That's kind of a gimme if you're looking at last years results...

dont u c it?
I do, Gibbs is doing what he did in the 80's. Signing and putting together a team of players he see's talent in. He can do it like he did before. Not the flashy players, but the talented players... It's good to see some of us giving him the time he needs. I know it was annoying these past years, but investing in Gibbs is the best thing we can do. He will take his #2 Recievers, his uncertain QB, his spectacular defense and running scheme and yes defeat the eagles for the division.
Give Norv a chance, Give Marty a chance, Give Steve a chance... not the same as... Give GIBBS A CHANCE... This man will do it!

Nothing ever goes as planned as far as the NFL goes. Philthy could lose a few games early and be out of it by Halloween. You never know. No one predicted the Redskins to dominate the league in '91, and I think the Viqueens are over-rated.
***Poster of the Year*** Hail to the Redskins. Everything else is inferior. Guess who's not a HOMER on this site.

Great post JPM36.
I think we can get that spot... We got a patched up O-line. 2 flash receivers. Ramsey getting serious. Portis doing what he does best. And then our BIG D... Lavar coming back, Carlos Rogers being our #2 CB. We should definatley get that #6 spot. or according to Ludacris that #1 spot
