What's the worst that can happen? He gets cut.

As long as he comes cheap, then there is absolutley no downside to signing him. Zero. On the other hand, there is that outside chance that he makes the team. Or that he actually makes an impact.

It's not about needing another runningback. It's about giving ourselves options.

Forsey inks 1-year deal with Redskins

Statesman staff
Edition Date: 05-05-2005

Former Boise State football star Brock Forsey signed a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins on Wednesday, his agent said.

Forsey, a running back who was waived by the Miami Dolphins last week, signed the contract after a workout with the NFL club.

His agent, Derrick Fox of San Diego, said Forsey turned down a two-year contract offer because he becomes a restricted free agent after this season.

Forsey could earn up to $380,000 this season if he makes the Redskins roster, Fox said.

Forsey has played with the Dolphins and the Chicago Bears. He last played at Boise State in 2002 and left as the school-record holder in career all-purpose yardage, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns and scoring.

It is an intriguing pick because it does not fit the role of a Gibbs back. Perhaps he is yet another pick for special teams but we have strong competition for those jobs already. :hmm:

There's nothing offensive about it, that's the truth. Not counting Mike Alstott (he's techincally a fullback, but in reality...), who was the last good (or even mediocre) white tailback? Merril Hoge? Travis Jervey? They were both pretty terrible...

I did a double take, thinking Johnny Samples for a minute. Not only is he recently dead, but we released him about 33 years ago.
That is a sure-fire way to get yourself released, being dead is.

Nick Goings isn't white, he is just a light skinned black dude. There white fullback Brad Hoover played some running back last year though.
