Giants Unveil New 2005 Away Uniforms

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants today unveiled new road uniforms for the 2005 season.

The uniform features a white jersey with red numerals and stripes, gray pants with red and blue stripes and red socks. Because the pants differ from those the team will wear at home, the Giants will have three complete uniforms – home, road and their alternate uniform.

The new jerseys are exact replicas of those worn by the 1956 NFL Champion Giants. In addition to the large red numerals, the sleeves will include a thick red stripe bordered by two thinner red stripes. It is known as a Northwestern stripe pattern, because the football team at Northwestern is believed to be the first to use it. The Giants wore those jerseys from the mid-1950s through 1963.

The pants feature a blue stripe bordered by two red stripes. The Giants wore the same pants in the late 1950s and 1960.

The Giants will wear red socks only on the road. They will continue to wear blue jerseys and blue socks at home.

In addition, on both the home and away jerseys this season the traditional “ny” logo replaces the “Giants” script just below the drop neck.

This season, the Giants will wear black shoes with both the home and away uniforms.

The older Giants fans like them. I, personally, still think the gray pants make them look slower than dirt.

Blah - Just like the team wearing them - Blah
Testeverde looks like a quarterback, Testeverde acts like a quaterback,
Testeverde even talks like quaterback, but he has the heart of a placekicker.

Blah...to plain, to simple, to old school in a bad way.
