#1 Defense???

Post by hatsOFF2gibbs »

With the addition of CRodgers and McCune, how do you think we will do on defense this season? Yeah, we did lose APierce and FSmoot but we gained some decent players. Plus, some of the injured players are coming back to play (LaVar and MBowen)

I think we'll definitely be in the top three. But, do you think GWilliams and the gang will be able to keep the number one spot in the NFL or will they not be able to hold one of the top three spots?

Ahhhh...these darn polls.....I always mess them up. Please vote on the first choices of each number....sorry guys...I made it a poll and then it deleted and then I editted and made the poll again and then it doubled the choices. I don't know why...it must be a glitch.

Our Defense will remain in the top three, with about half the season holding the number one spot, but certain games i.e. Eagles, will drop us to 2nd. The number one spot is a reachable goal.

the skins will finish between 10 and 15... that's still good enough to make the playoffs if the offense can wake up.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

I voted #3 ... but I think we'll be lower than that. Perhaps we'll be #5.

I think that we'll be somewhere in the top 15. Our defense last year was pretty good but I think that at times they played above their talent. Out d-line is average at best, we lost a very good corner in Smoot, and our field general in Pierce. I think a lot will depend on how soon Rogers is able to step in and how well our MLB play. Taylor should be better this year and hopefully Levar will be back so that should help a lot. Additionally, teams will probably be better able to read our blitz packages this year so getting some sort of pass rush from the DL will be important as well.

I went with 3 we have a great D, but don't have a bruiser to run down the clock.

I went with #3. We're still lacking in regards to our front four and getting a consistent pass rush. We're not a scoring defense and that seperates the good from the great.

I went with two. I think Greg Williams will definitely get it done this year. We should've had the number one spot last year. Remember...when our offense gets better this year, so will our defense. They'll be out there less and won't be as fatigued. Rodgers seems to be a good replacement for Smoot and hopefully Taylor has learned some new things after last year. Plus LaVar's back!!!!!!
On the defensive side of the ball, it's going to be great!

I voted one out of pure hope but do see our defense competing again with gregg williams pulling the strings. If lavars healthy.....sean and him are serious playmakers on defense. Can't wait to see sean second year in the league.....very scary.

Our defense will be among the top 5 in the league. Difficult to predict top three at this time. I voted 3 but there should have been an "OTHER" among the choices.

Chris got the first sentence right, so far and for as long as they have not recruited a fierce DE to start or for depth. This might still change before training camp though.

In relation to his second sentence, I am more optimistic. Sean Taylor has a nose for the ball and Rogers might surprise many of us.

I expect a much better play from special teams.

I say none of the above. Top 10 or 15. Of course I'll revise my estimate after the game after the bye week. That shoudl be enough for at least an educated wager.

I went with #2. We still need some pass rush from the DLine before we can take that top spot.

I definitely don't think our defense will get any worse.

We are getting other players back from injury and younger players are just going to get better.

And our offense is also going to be better, so that will definitely help out the defense a lot. My 2 cents
