UFA Chris Kelley

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

UFA Chris Kelley

Post by terps and skins »

I'm not even sure if he was eligible for the draft. This guy was a standout High School All-Met player at Quarterback and Linebacker. Unfortantely, he did have knee surgery twice that almost ended his career. He played well last year on the Terps, he has a great motor. Anybody think a NFL team will give him a roster shot?

I hope some team gives him a chance. I was at most of the MD games last year and I always watched Kelly when the defense was on the field. He and Merriman were always involved in the tackle. I don't know if he can make as a pro but he has the heart.

That's probably his only realistic shot, if he has a shot at all. I'm rooting for him.

Where did you see that reported. I didn't find it on http://umterps.collegesports.com/sports ... 05aaf.html

Is that out of date?

I found the link:

Terrapins safety Chris Kelley, running back Sammy Maldonado, wide receiver Steve Suter and defensive end Kevin Eli are expected among the unsigned players trying out at this week's rookie minicamp.

http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20050 ... -8257r.htm

I like that we are giving Suter a chance too. He was the fastest guy on the team. He was injured the past season but two years ago he was the best kickoff and punt returner in the ACC. He's a Smurf and a good teams player.

i heard that suter had cartilage removed from his knee, which slowed him down, also kept him injured all last year

He was still their best receiver in the middle of the field. One exception was the young tight end. I forget his name, he is going to be great.

Is it possible to fully recover your speed after having cartilage removed?
