Joe Gibbs is in charge!
Well, if nothing else, yesterdays draft showed exactly who is in charge of The Washington Redskins. And, that person is Joe Gibbs. This is vintage Gibbs. If there was ever a doubt as to who was in charge, this put those doubts to rest. Not only does it show that Gibbs is the one in charge, but it shows that he has absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in doing whatever it takes, including angering some fans, in order to turn this franchise around. If yesterdays events unfolded under a Spurrier or Schottenheimer regime the rumors would be rampant of a rift between the Owner/Coach/Cerrato triumverate, and although everyone would deny it, there would most certainly be a rift. Not only has Gibbs emphatically assured the NFL world who is in charge, but team Owner Dan Snyder is actually enjoying it and doesn't seem to have a problem with it. That was not the case in years past. This is pure beauty to witness.
During the latter days of Norv Turner, Steve Spurrier, and Marty Schottenheimer, no one really beleived that there wasn't any power struggle at the top. I don't get that same feeling anymore. Never have I been so assured that Joe Gibbs is in charge. And, that's the way it should be!!

C'mon do we really have to agree with his picks? Hasn't been Gibbs and Co. looking at the game film and interviewing these guys for the past few months? Since when did we become the 'experts'.
I will evaluate this draft, just like any other rational person...after you see the guys play.
McNab was booed by Eagles fans...they wanted Ricky Williams...hmmm how did that turn out.
Saints traded every pick of their draft for Ricky...I'll take the wait and see approach.

I'll second that! Although I don't really have to wait and see has I have complete faith in Gibbs & Co.

and that is why we need Bethard back. The reason we won in the 80's is because Bethard told his ass who to play. Gibbs implamented his schemes and Bethard told him who to play. Like when Gibbs said I don't want Riggins and I am going to get rid of him and Bethard told him if you bench Riggins your ass is fired. That is why he didn't bench Theisman becuase Betherad told him no your not. We should get a GM and not let Gibbs pick the players. Enjoy watching Patrick this season in a Redskin uniform because it is going to be his last and he is going to be a star for some other franchise. This is his contract year, he will say f u Gibbs I am leaving at the end of this year. That is the reason he does not care if we draft a Qb or not. Because at the end of this upcoming season he is gone. He is aditioning for a starting job this year for another team. You heard it here Bledsoe is getting old, Parcells doesn't like Henson, Ramsey will be in the silver and Blue next year. Well definetly not the Burgundy and Gold.

I'm kind of stunned with JGibbs picking certain players in the draft. Why did we pass up on MWilliams? Why did we get a QB?
Whatever it is, he must have thought this over for weeks. So, he must be right in what he has done. Looking forward to training camp!

"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

Yeah your right, I am not dum enough to waste my money.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion in these regards. And mine reflects that your posts are caustic and negative in nature...therefore I will not bother reading them anymore. No matter what kind of silver lining becomes of this, I feel you'll remain soured. And you have every right to do so...I'm just tired of reading about it. I feel that Gibbs drafted in his opinion the best talent available...and he has been known for finding gems in later rounds. These gems will play hard, gel well as a team, and not cost us an arm and a leg. Wait and see how much Williams commands. I agree with several others who feel Brunell is one foot out the door. Secondly, we won't have the funds to grab a top quality QB next year. So, when next year rolls around, Ramsey will have either shown his upside, or that it's time to hit the road. And Campbell will have a year under his belt under a competent staff. So continue to stand under that rain cloud and complain that the sky is falling...

Then why make such a statement about Beathard dictating Gibbs who to play and who not to play, when you don't even know if that's the case or not. It was quite the contrary. As Gibbs said in his book, Cooke nor Beathard never denied him the player he wanted. Yet, you choose to make it seem otherwise? Why make up fictitious stories about someone you don't even know just because you didn't get the guy you wanted?

Are you on crack? Or, perhaps, you are living in an alternative dimension. Whatever the case, you really need to get a clue.

I know for a fact he wanted to get rid of Riggins. I didn't need to read a book to find that out. So guess what I do know a lot of the facts from articles. Matt Leinhart and the Qb from Iowa who looked great against LSU is coming out next year. If we kept our first round pick and Ramsey faltered this year we would have had a top ten pick and we could drafted one of them. Both are going to be way better players than this Campell guy. You guys are right I should find another team.

Dude, I think you are on crack.
ARE YOU aware that it was Joe Jackson Gibbs that convinced John Riggins to come out of retirement and play for the Redskins again? The rest is history.
There are plenty more of these stories.
Dude, get a clue.

get a clue Manfreda, Gibbs got his way most of the time in the draft. and Cass didn't tell Gibbs nada about who to play.
Like oafsup said, Joe got Riggins to come back and play. Your so much worse than he who we no longer name. At least he was a cowboys fan. You supposed to be a B&G fan. Your so obviously not. You may have been when we were winning, but probably not since you hate Gibbs so much. What, Smizzy straightened up his act, so you decided to take over? Your so much worse than any of the others we've had to deal with. A skins Troll on Hogs.net....Never thought I'd see that. Oh well, mebbe you will switch teams, and then you can come here and spam us for awhile before BH finally bans you. Please hurry up and switch teams, so we can get to the banning you part
