All those who think we had a bad first day

Post by OCSkins »

Look at Denver! You cannot tell me that CB was a position of such need that they would burn two of their three picks on them and then to take Maurice Clarett, the Broncos looked like idiots. The Redskins looked like we had a plan.

Did you like Denver's draft. The Gibbs haters will hold anything up as an example to say the sky is falling. Shanahan looks like the King of the idiots.

WOW!

Clarret was picked on the First Day! And of all the teams it was Denver! Man, that is something I will be tunning into this year.

Shannahan won't look like an idiot when Clarett rushes for 1,000 this year or next.

Dominique Foxworth isn't a bad corner. He will do well in Denver. They needed to replace Kelly Herndon and they did.

I don't think Clarett was a good value at this pick, because I believe he would have been around later, but I could definately see Shanahan making him into another one of his success stories. I think I heard a sigh of relief all the way from Ohio when this pick was made.

Clarett and Ron Dayne. If he manages to make those two look good he's got to go in the Hall of Fame.

Does anybody know why Denver forfeited their #26 pick in the 3rd round?

Maurice Clarett can play football. Who gives a dang what he ran in the 40, the 'eye in the sky doesn't lie' and this guy is 235, shifty, has excellent vision, and has excelled at a high level.

You can't ignore the guy's game film, and believe the dumb commentators. Once he gets into an NFL training camp, he will get back into football shape. He will also be in one of the best running systems in the NFL.

GO Maurice..how do you hate him for 'lying about the value of things stolen from his car' when a guy who tested positive for steroids went 1st round?

Pete Prisco thinks the Campbell pick was dumb.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Washington selects: Jason Campbell, QB, Auburn

Grade D-

(From Denver) This is one of the strangest picks of the draft. This team has so many needs, yet they take a developmental quarterback with Patrick Ramsey already on the roster. Campbell had one good year in college, so the verdict is still out on him. I don't like this pick at all.

I didn't like Clarett before. The commentators were talking about how on bad advice he had jumped up to like 260 lbs and had just recently lost 25 lbs to get back to his college weight, right before the combine. That's why his 40 time was so bad. Then they show his interview. I like the kid a lot now. He just wants to play football and seems really happy that he even got drafted. He just wanted to know when he could get to work. He said there definitely would be no problem for the team getting him into camp.

I kinda hate Denver these days, but I hope Clarett does well in his career...

heres another dude that thinks we blew it (SI.com)

5. Washington Redskins: If Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell is a star in this league some day, maybe the Redskins will be saluted for their draft-week derring do. But with Patrick Ramsey -- first round in 2002 -- and Mark Brunell (an $8 million signing bonus) still around, the Redskins gave up a first (in 2006), a third (this year) and a fourth (2006) round pick to select a quarterback who probably won't help Joe Gibbs win immediately.

Hello, McFly? Is there anybody home at Redskins Park? Not only did Washington give up to much for Denver's No. 25, it made the move way too early in the week, tipping off its pursuit of Campbell. As it turns out, another team like Cleveland didn't move ahead of the Redskins in order to steal away Campbell, but they could have. In truth, Washington was just plain lucky.

I'll take a crap pie in the face if Campbell wins us a playoff game within 3 seasons.

Is it at all possible that Gibbs knows a little more about our needs than some fat ass reporter? You guys are so quick to criticize, but you wont hesitate to share in the glory

Guys, Shannny will be immortal if he can 1,000 yard seasons out of Dayne and Clarett, but I love the 20 CB's Denver has gone after.

I figured it out Shanahan's going to a new 1-10 defense, he figures if he puts out 10 CB's the Broncos won't get torched by Peyton Manning in the post season, or the Raiders/Chiefs in the regular season.

Did you see Foxworth at the combine Jake? The "experts" say he is too small. This dude is compact and ripped. He ran a decent 40 but I don't know about his cover skills.

The "experts" also made fun of Denver picking up Clarett in the third. I could rush for 1,000 yards in Denver! Besides that it was a SUPPLAMENTAL pick ....aka a freebie! They had two picks in that round. They can afford to be patient to let him learn for a year or two to see if he pans out. If not then they didn't loose much.

I thought they were given that pick to make up for the NFL taking that pick away from them for Shanahan shenanigans (shanahanigans?).
