4th round pick

Post by fredp45 »

We have picks in the 6th and 7th -- I don't hold out much hope they'll help us in 2005...how about one of these guys in the 4th round?

TE -- Patrick Estes from Va 6'6" 268 4.79 (per SNews - An offensive tackle in a tight end's jersey).

or

ILB -- James Grigsby from Illin. State 6'0" 249 4.60 (per SNews - tough player who goes to the whistle)

or

DE -- Johnathan Fanene from Utah 6'3" 290 4.95 (per SNews - Big prospect with athleticism and power). shhhh -- don't tell Joe about the guy from Auburn (Jay Ratliff)

or

DT -- Sione Pouha from Utah 6'4" 318 5.02 (per SNews - flashes quickness and body control for his size).

or

RB -- Nehemiah Broughton from the Citadel 5'11" 245 4.59 (Per SNews - a fullback/running back tweener who could fit best in a one back system. The Key will be putting him in the right system and giving him the right role. HIs ability to play fullback or halfback, as well as his 4.59 time in the 40-yard dash, bode well for his future)

I'd be happy with any of these guys but would prefer TE Estes or RB/FB Broughton as I believe we need offensive players and these two guys fill roles we need.

I'm confident that in the next three picks that we have we will get an impact TE or DE!

Adam Seward - ILB - UNLV - is possibly the most athletic ILB in the draft. Just needs Gregg Williams to coach him up!

Elton Brown - G - UVA will probably get snagged before we pick in the 4th but he's still available which is suprising.

Most of the decent WR's left are head cases or injury concerns.

Pouha is off the board.

Man Arizona has had a great draft.

Antrell
JJ Arrington
Blackstock.

Dennis Green is really changing that franchise around.

Yeah, I was praying that Arizona wouldn't choose Rolle so we could get him. Rogers should be really good though.

I'm suprised a 3-4 team didn't jump on Blackstock earlier. Zona runs a 4-3 so he'll have to learn how to drop into coverage.

I agree that canty would be an awesome addition in the fourth round. Has anyone heard of a WR named Brackens <sp.> from what i read on his bio he seemed like an insane red zone receiver coming out of community college directly to the pros. maybe 6th or 7th round. regardless i still believe a big receiver is necessary even in these later rounds.

Canty is a big injury risk but agree it would be nice to get him in the 4th.

Brackins is a big posession type WR. He's only played for a comminity college for two seasons so there are BIG question marks about his intelligence and ability at the NFL level. Someone will draft him tomorrow though.

Just a list that we can look at for the four round pick it is a lot of people still there that was suppose to be a first day pick: Fred Gibson, Ernest Shazor,Elton Brown,Brandon Browner,Chris Canty,A.Hawthrone: Some of these guys can probably start for us.

Marcus Lawrence in the 4th. He has the ability and size to start in the NFL in a year after Barrow retires. Canty in the 4th would be a good pick too.
