Gibbs just did his job.

Post by skinpride1 »

Joe gibbs just did like always today and done his job in the draft.Gibbs trying to fill the lost cb position did so today.I think it was a really good move.Gibbs then did a bold move getting another Qb.Suddenly everyone thinks ramsey neck is on the chopping block.I dont think so after listing to some audio he done after the draft selection.Gibbs talked about how tough the qb position is and how you must peform. The 2005 season is going to be a ramsey go or bust season.Gibbs knows brunell and hasselbeck are just not the answer.I like the pick of campell. The guy is 6-3 and has a strong arm and very smart being coached under 3 or 4 differnt systems.I think this is alot like the chris cooley case where gibbs just sees talent in someone.I guess everyone has forgot that gibbs hand picked cooley last year just like with campell today.Go skins!!!

And clearly that is why they picked him!

Oh, well since you put it THAT way, I guess you're right. Joe Gibbs has no knowledge of football and doesn't know what he's doing!!

UNBELEIVABLE!!!
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Man everyone is thinking that JGibbs is a new coach to this league. THE GUY WON US 3 TROPHIES. THE GUY IS IN THE HALL OF FAME. now if you guys think you can do better than him GO TRY AND BECOME 1/100 of what he is right now.

Gibbs obviously has a plan, besides, there was no one worth taking with the #25 pick other than Campbell if you are talking about pure gamebreaker potential. Absolutely no one.

That's why we shouldn't have traded three picks to get the #25 pick.

so somebody please explain to me why we gave up 3 picks for Jason Campbell. what does Joe Gibbs Think he is going to be the next Doug Williams (so lame)
When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason for the mistake into your mind, and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power. - JORDAN

WHY DID WE DRAFT A QUARTERBACK :?:
-drinking -drinking
DOES JOE GIBBS KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING :?:
-drinking

Gibbs had no reason to draft a QB to groom for the future.
We all know he is quiting next week (the draft will be over .....they have to write something).
-drinking -drinking
Ramsey is our outright starter (so what he's in the last year of his ROOKIE contract)

-drinking -drinking -drinking
We have two other veteran QBs on the squad and under contract (OK we are stuck under 1 of the contracts but you know what I mean). -drinking

If Ramsey were to get hurt I would have been comfortable rotating Brunell and Hassellbeck.
I haven't figured out the rotation yet but I know Brunell would be on the sideline on any play that called for a pass over 7 yards, and I doubt I'd use him on anything needing him to rollout.
Mark really wants to prove to everyone that he still can play this game so I don't think I'd put him in a position where he would be able to audible.
We also Have Hassellbeck and he can...... :?:
 wELL He has a pretty wife and with him in the game  we'd be on The Veiw as a regular segment.

-drinking -drinking WHAT WAS THE QUESTION :?: -drinking

We could have gotten this pick for a 2nd rounder and a 5th but we didn't have those picks, we came up with equal value.

We trade a 3rd this year and future picks for a player for the future that we have now. (the cost of doing business)

I think he meant that the comparisons to Williams are lame, which they are.

I’m not sure if we should have given up next years picks or not, but I will say this…

Joe has a vision, he knows football and he knows his QB’s
He has a knack for finding the diamond in the rough and turning him into a leader. He helps the average/blue collar guy to rise up and find something in himself to play at a level he never thought possible. He finds QBs he can groom for his offensive system. Check out the following:

Joe Theismann - 2 SB appearances, 1 SB Win under Gibbs, plus 2 pro bowls
His Successor/ Back up Jay Schroeder

Drafted:
Jay Schroeder – 1 NFC Champ appearance & helped lead the team to a SB, plus a pro bowl
His Successor/ Back up is Doug Williams

Brought in:
Doug Williams – Wins SB “four years after Gibbs’ last SB appearances”
His Successor/ Back up Mark Rypien

Drafted:
Mark Rypien: – Wins SB “four years after Gibbs’s last SB appearances”, plus 2 pro bowls.
His Successor/ Back up Stan Humphries.

**This one is a stretch, but I would still count it***
Drafted:
Stan Humphries: – Leads Chargers to the SB, but loses to 49ers
“2 years after Gibbs retires, just three from Gibbs’ last appearance”

That's five SB appearances by Joe Gibbs QBs in a 13 years span. 3 winning SBs and a total of 5 pro bowl appearances by QBs all on run orientated teams.

We went 10-6 in 1989 and had the following QBs on our roster.
Mark Rypien, Stan Humphries & Doug Williams. So this is nothing new to Joe, so just sit back relax and enjoy the ride because there is a SB on the Horizon you can count on Joe for that!
Jansen on his broken thumbs:
"It’s limited me in some ways but has been beneficial in others. It’s like I have a couple of clubs on my hands. I just have to hit people with them."
