Randy Mueller: (5:07 PM ET ) I think it's an idictment of the Redskin decision making..first they gave mark Brunnell, 6 mil to sign...he could play....then they went to Ramsey for half the season and Joe Gibbs says he's the guy no matter what....then they pick the next guy with Jason Campbell...I've said it a millon times...just pick a lane....I don't care what lane...pick one and stay in it for more than 6 months....

Quarterback??? WHAT??? So much for Gibbs' confidence in Ramsey and his $40m backup (who we can't trade yet) and our decent 3rd stringer who we JUST RE-SIGNED. Sure an improvement at an already good position is nice but it's not sell-the-farm-to-move-up nice!

Good lord what is going on?

Those scores definitely reassure me some, but I'm just nervous because we're gonna have a first rounder riding the pine. I never checked these boards last year, but I viewed last year as a great draft (on draft day), and am less optimistic about this years.

Damn... I wanted a player who could immediate contribute. To be honest I'm shocked that Heath Miller wasn't our selection. I thought it was gonna be between Roddy White and Heath but oh well. Campbells gonna be solid in the future (the near future I hope)... It would really make this day a lot better for me if we could get a 3rd rounder for Gardner... I'm still weepin about the mike williams thing but Rogers will be good so I cant get down too much

IF I gave you the answers to a 50 question test and offered millions for doing well, do you think you'd get at least 30 right?

Besides, who are you going to believe, a standardized test or the coaches who he has frustrated?

Why are we spending so much money on QB? Rookie Qb is a project, Gibbs does'nt have the time to mentor this guy, stick with Ramsey and p/u Mike Williams. This was a joke today, get used to being the laughing stock of the NFL.

Gibbs has 4 years left in his 5 year contract to mentor this guy....

I think that's more than enough...

I'm happy with Rogers at 9.

I think Campbell is the best avilable Quaterback remaining. They obviously wanted him as they went after the #25 pick.

Maybe there is a trade for Ramsey pending. Or maybe Brunell will retire and take his big contract to the coaching staff.

I do struggle a bit with the salary cap. Would Brunell cost us anything if he retired.

Campbell would then be a smart move.

Auburn coaches have claimed they had to "dumb down" the systme to meet his diminished mental capacities. Career backup.

actually he got a 28 on the wonderlic at the combine

After scoring a 13 on his own the first time. After prepping, i.e. studying the answers from multiple possible tests, he still only pulled a 28.

I gave yuo props for the great pick of Rogers early, but this might be one of the worst picks in the last 10 years.

the first score was a 14.

"Does well in school (3.0 grade point average). His first Wonderlic test score (14) was lower than you like from a player at the quarterback position, but he then scored a much-improved 28 at the Combine in February"

He's not stupid. He had a bad score on his first test, who knows why. If could have been any reason. He had 4 coordinators during his time at auburn, so I doubt they had to dumb it down for him.

All intelligence tests are biased, especially towards the less educated. He's from a town of about 1500. I'm sure the education there is less than up to par. Intelligence cannot be determined by a test because previous schooling determines what you know. What you know isn't a measuring stick of intelligence. What you can learn is how you measure intelligence. The fact that he doubled his score like that, shows that he can not only learn, but learn quickly. He's excelled at QB since high school, so I would think he's a quick study...

Not more than enough, look at the top qb's in the league, Mcnabb, Cullpepper, Manning, they need 5-6 years to develop, this is joke given the number of qb's we have and what we gave up to get pick 25.

Could have been worse:

Nobody from Miami was picked! :)

We can really dump Brunell now. Or trade Hasselbeck to get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for next year.

Also, I am still waiting for something to happen to Gardner.

This was too much to pay for Campbell, I hope Gibbs knows something I don't. The guys on ESPN at least alluded to Doug Williams being picked 17th I think. Similiar situation...

you brought up the test my friend.... don't back out on it...

Joe Gibbs is no dummy.... he brought 3 different QB to three SB wins.... I'm sure he asked all the coaches, and every other person he could.... and he obviously liked what he saw... excuse me if I believe a HOF coach... over you...

I have no idea what were doing. Unless they have a true masterful plan of trading Rod Gardner or Mark Brunell (unlikely), this leaves a lot of question marks. Well, if there'a a positive sude, we can now look at DMac as our red zone guy. They better make it in the later rounds.

This is a VERY stupid pick...maybe using a 4th roudner on a qb would make sense, If this guy is going to be backup then why did we use a first rounder on him? Theres so many bigger needs...

I have a very bad feeling that some type of trade involving Ramsey is going to happen. Gibbs said last year that he still expects Brunell to produce for this team. So maybe Gibbs wants to start Brunell for another year and have Campbell backup and learn. Not good.

maybe we can have a situation like the chargers had last year...seemed like drafting phillip rivers sparked drew brees to do some big things...hopefully it'll motivate ramsey to step up

haha, you guys are funny. Quit crying already. Waa waa waa waa!!!!

It's so sickening to see my fellow bretheren acting like Pukes fans.

We do not have that many needs. We filled one of the few by taking Rogers.

Joe sees something in Campbell and that's why he took him. He will sit on the bench 1-4 years and learn how to play QB in the NFL just like they used to do.

If we win 11 games this season, win our first playoff game and then lose, what will you all be saying about Gibbs and the team? I think we will win 11 games this season. If we do, will you still be crying about what a laughing stock we are and how we suck?

I think that this will officially make Brunell the higest paid third string qb in the history of the NFL.

I'm not backing out of anything. Campbell's as dumb as a box of rocks. Someone posted his original score as "14", I have a little bit better info, but I'll go with that. A player doesn't double his score unless there are outside influences ("prepping") involved.

Besides, does this mean that I can officially refer to Ramsey as a "bust" now?
