Thats why I'm sure we wont keep Gardner. Even if we only get a 5th rounder for him.
I mean how are we going to sign two first round picks, then we will probably have to give Santana Moss a bigger contract and maybe the same with Sean Taylor.
No way we can do all that with 1.5 million is space, I mean we might not even be able to fit that all in with 3 million space.

Right now, the cap number is superfluous. There are still deals to be made, players to trade/cut.
It might be a little early yet to worry too much about that sort of thing.
Solid money says Taylor won't restructure to help us any, though.

Take a look at the cap chart:
http://www.thehogs.net/html/Team/salary_table.html
Cutting/Trading Gardner will clear about $1.5 M.
That'll give us about $3 M wiggle room.
Since only the top 51 salaries count toward the cap,
we can sign the two top picks for about $3.5 M (in 2005)
and still be under the cap. We will have to cut 2 players
later whose salaries add up to $0.5 M.

I was hoping he would be more involved this year. I don't think we save much by cutting him anyway with his SB.

Frankcal20:
From my understanding, we'd only save 0.545 M by cutting/trading
McCants. The remaining 0.667 M is the pro-rated signing bonus
already paid and will count against the cap no matter what.
I believe the McCants signing was done after Gibbs came
on board ... but without his full knowledge. See this link:
