What is wrong with the Redskins

Post by gottoloveit »

I am a Steelers fan - my best friend is a Redskins fan and I am really just a big fan of the NFL. I only really hate the Ravens. But any way - The Redskins are a laughing stock to most fans around the league and it is because of two people in your organization - you already know who they are - 1. Snyder and 2.Cerrato. People think that your team is a complete joke and quite frankly I am embarassed FOR Joe Gibbs. You have the highest payroll in the league yet your front office couldnt run a fever. Yes you are the laughing stock of the league. Bringing in Shottenhiemer then firing him? What the heck? Bringing in Spurrier?????? The Redskins will never return to glory as long as Snyder and Cerrato are in the organization. Sorry Dudes - mean this with much respect and no hard feelings. Good luck this year you'll need it.

I think that this is your first post and your stirring the pot... everything you have mentioned, we've heard before.... frankly, we love fans from other football teams to come and visit and talk... but your bringing nothing new to the table...

....Tell your Redskin BUD to hunker down grow some cojones, and come discuss anything he wants here. I have a feeling he isnt a true fan anyway if he has to send a steelers fan to post (stir pot) in a THE Redskins forum.

*pimp slaps newbie on the way out* ...oh and no hard feelings

I for one, don't mind another perspective from another team's fan...you got the right to your opinion. And I agree with some of what you said...The Burgundy and Gold were well on their way to being the laughingstock of the league, when Jay Leno started cracking jokes about the Skins during Spurrier's second year instead of the Bengals, it's just about official. The only thing that stopped it was the fact that Lil Dan hired Joe. Gibbs brought back respect and intimidated the jokesters into hushin up, with his track record speakin for itself...

Cerrato IS a joke, and can't no one convince me otherwise. Dan can handle the financials, I'll give him that. But any on field success the squad will have will be in spite of them and not because of them. That said, I'll stay optimistic about the recent moves and their potential and say, Let's Roll Burgundy N Gold!
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

Forgive me for disrespecting my elders! I am just emotional vs. what I consider negative comments.

The attendance record? Who gives a crap about a attendance record? This sport isnt about who can put more people in the stands.

How old are you? You're using quite a bit of slang to be old.

I'm sorry if your recieving any flame man.

Frankly, though, when you come to a Redskins Board and you tell us this... its just like a kid whos heard his mother tell him to take out the trash too much, it tends to get to you.

We're not bad or angry fans, we're just sick of hearing the same thing over and over again. We know its true, but many members feel that your rubbing it in by stating it again.

So,welcome to the boards. Just don't be offended by our reaction, you just came off as kind of reminding us of that.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time the Steelers won a Super Bowl? And does it bother you that Terry Bradshaw is the most overrated QB in the history of the NFL?

We are weathering a storm right now. Granted it's a 10+ year storm...but it will eventually turn around. Once it does, teams will be trying to mimick the Redskins just as teams tried to mimick the Rams during Kurt Warner's best years and now are trying to mimick the Patriots.

The good thing about it is that, as of right now, the Redskins fans on this board are die-hards....no fare weather fans here. We bleed burgundy and gold and we don't issue a stamp of approval for every move our front office makes or every move The Danny makes.

Take a look at our posts and get a feel for the crowd here before coming in and posting something right off the bat meant solely to stir up trouble. We ache when our team loses and our weeks are made when we win. We want to win just as badly as anyone else.

Terry Bradshaw didnt win any super bowls, the Steel Curtain did, and even Trent Dilfer won a superbowl you calling him a great quarterback? Nevertheless, Cowher has done a great job in the big games cough cough (choke).

Let me add my welcome to the site. Hope you can share with us through the coming success.

I think there are a lot of Skins fans who are looking forward to the coming season. Yes, there is some nervousness but I am not frustrated about what has happened. That's over and I am looking ahead. I think we saw some improvement last year from the last few years of some bad basic football by our team. We are going to be a very solid and well rounded team.

We have Joe back and he is adjusting to the current NFL and I think he learned a lot last year and we are starting to get the sort of team and players that he will be able to use in his system. This is one of the best NFL coaches ever and a I think we will see the evidence of that both this coming season and in how he will get this franchise back on track to being consistently in the playoffs and fun to watch again.

I also think that there are a lot of football fans out there who perceive our team through the eyes of the media and IMO this is totally wrong. Now, we understand that there are a lot of people who will enjoy seeing this once very proud franchise "on the ropes" but to think that we are frustrated or think that we are not going to be one of the best teams in football and soon is a bad mistake. We are just begining to get back into the fight.

We are The Washington Redskins!

Stick around and learn about the Redskins from some people who know them. The media for the most part and a lot of fans do not know our team - we are The Washington Redskins!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Don't you mean the anabolic curtain?

Back on topic here. Year one of Gibbs' second tenure didn't go well. But who knows what will happen this year. We certainly played your team pretty well last year. I wasn't happy about a lot of our offseason moves but I'm not an NFL coach and I'm not Gibbs. Snyder and Cerrato don't play and they don't walk the sidelines. If this is a failed year, that's all on Gibbs. But I don't think that's going to happen.

Oh I am so glad you took that bait.
Where to start? He threw 210 interceptions over a 12-year perdiod, barely topped 50% completion percentage and featured a whopping 7.2 yards per pass. Even his vaunted playoff numbers aren't that impressive: he threw 30 touchdowns in 19 playoff appearances (including Super Bowls) but he also threw 26 interceptions and had a 57.2% completion rate.
Terry Bradshaw was the equivalent of Tampa's Brad Johnson albeit on a better team (the Steelers) in a weaker era. The Steelers were able to compensate for having a mediocre QB. On any other team, Bradshaw is just another guy who played QB, not a Hall of Famer.
