Can everyone out there get off the Heath Miller kick. We are DEFINITELY not picking him up with our #9 pic, especially when we have ey who led our team with touchdowns last year as a rookie. ey has heart and great hands. Second we have other big bodys to put on our ends for blocking purposes. I personally think we have 4 positions that would be filled way before we picked up Miller and that is Corner, DE,WR, and we all know gibbs loves some depth when it comes to his interior line. I watched all the games last year and ey caught some of Brunells passes for tds that were in the dirt, and over his head. I dont even think some of the veteran tight ends could have caught half of Brunells passes that Colley caught. BOTTOM LINE...we have bigger holes to fill and they will be addressed on draft day!
COOLEY IS NOT A TIGHT END SAYING DON'T GET MILLER BECAUSE WE HAVE COOLEY IS LIKE SAYING DON'T GET MIKE WILLIAMS BECAUSE WE HAVE PORTIS

You are right, we wont get Miller with #9, we will hopefully get him at #25.
Today i was watching Total Access, Vinny Cerato was on!, and now i think that even if Mike Williams is there at #9, we might not get him. I think we are zeroed in on the 3 CB and which everones are left, we will pick one at 9.
Then at 25 we will get an offensive player, who I hope is Heath Miller.
Miller has big Hands and Heart. I think he would even upgrade our offense more than Mike Williams.
All I know is that this will be one fun draft to watch!

The staff is high on Garnell Wilds, Rufus Brown, and think Walt Harris is a capable starter. We are going to draft Mike Williams and Heath Miller at the 25th pick. If Williams isn't available it will be Williamson. We are not drafting a corner. Drafting a corner would be a wasted pick.
I think with the 9 pick we should do 1 of two things: 1. Pick Mike Williams if he's available, or 2. Trade down to the mid teens to pick Carlos Rodgers.
With the 25 pick we should get a cornerback, if we are able to land Williams with the 9. If we get Rodgers with the 9, pick Miller or Jones.

Is Rufus Brown still on the team? I thought that he was gone!
If Mike Williams is there we would pretty much have to take him. He is the best player in this draft and putting a big physical receiver like him opposite Santana Moss would be a very complementary pair.
If we do end up with Mike Williams, I hope we would take a corner with the 25th pick, maybe Justin Miller or Fabian Washington.
I don't see Williams falling that far unfortunately and I see us staying put and taking Rogers or Pac Man Jones with the 9th pick.

Look skin # 1 fan, miller is the best tight end in this draft period. If i had my way i would pick him at no.9 or after we traded down with the no.9 pick. Look we need a tight end period. He is the BEST tight end who will fit our scheme and i guarantee you he will not be available at pick no.25, that's for sure. So why not GET ON HEATH MILLER.
Then with the 25th pick we can get a CB. Even Marlin Jackson who I think is the most underrated damn Cb in this draft is a good Cb and a FOOTBALL player or any other CB at pick no.25 will suffice. What do you guys think.

This is what probably will happen. Trade down with nine to say mid first round and receive a 2nd. With that pick we select Carlos Rogers. With the 25 pick we should go after your te or perhaps Matt Jones.
Death to all things remotely BLUE and SILVER!!!!!!!!!!! Hail Skins
Too many variables, too many scenarios , i think I am having a brain overload and my head is about to explode. Help me please
Side note: I hate the last days before draft day.

Me either. We shouldn't be thinking about a TE when we have other needs. Concentrate on ARolle and MWilliams....

Never heard anyone postulate drafting Miller at #9, don't know where that one came from.
At #25 we probably could count ourselves lucky to snag Miller. Gibbs has always run an offense that featured mismatch flexibility by using H-backs, TE's shifting and lined up in various positions. To do that you need more than ey and a bumch of blockers. Walter Rasby is not going to cause Safety's any distress.
In addition, Mike Golic (ESPN) was asked, "in 10 years which player in this draft are we going to look back on and say, 'he was the best of the 2005 draft class'" and Golic said Heath Miller.

What?
ey played TE his entire college career. If he was drafted by any other team he would be playing on the line as a TE. But he is in Gibbs' offense and used as an H-back.
Like it or not, he is a TE (being used as an H-back).
In Gibb's offense the H-back is used to catch the ball, the TE is an extra blocker.
Why would you want an injured rookie TE with good hands to be a blocker? Don't you think we have more pressing needs?
PS, comparing WR to the RB position is a stretch when comparing H-back to TE.
thank you OAFUSP...Finally someone with some football knowledge. You are exactly right!!! ey was a Tight end in college. If he played on any other team he would be a tight end. And a damn good one at that. We have someone that will go over the middle and take a hit and still catch the ball
lol, some guys are DE's in college and they play OLB in the pros...
ey played TE in college and plays a different position in the NFL.
He plays HBack and we still employ a totally separate TE position in the offense.
Miller would not just be a blocker, he'd be another offensive weapon through either running or passing, offense is a need, and we don't have a solid TE.
Miller is a real possibility at a real position of need.

lol Now you are talking about him running the ball. Well before last years draft a TE was a huge need and winslow was by far the best athlete at that position and we passed on him then. Now we have someone that can catch passes from the TE position and create a mismatch for linebackers trying to cover him and he can throw a block when we ask him to. Gibbs loves guys like ey because he shuts his mouth and plays hard nose football and does whatever his team needs him to do. ey didnt miss a game and u never heard any locker room problems surrounding him. No one is gonna fill eys shoes after he led our team in tds as a rookie TE/Hback. I will say it again we have much bigger needs than Miller.
personally i do not want him, there are bigger holes to fill then at the tight end position...is he even that good at blocking?...seems like he has great hands, but so does cooley..
