What the heck are they thinking?
Anyone have any ideas on this trade of picks with the Broncos?
How do you give up that many picks for #25?
Seems stupid to me unless they have other things in the hopper.

Joe has always seemed to want veterans over rookies so maybe he will build like he has always built the skins through FA's and less through the draft.Dont know if the 80's way will work in 2000's but what do I know. It just make the offseason exciting and depressing at the same time.Where my meds!!!!!

I'm really excited about the possibility of Jason Campbell, BUT if the Redskins wanted this guy so bad how did it get "leaked"?
On one hand if Joe Gibbs wants Campbell I am all for it 100%... but this could just be a smoke screen.
The fact remains though, we must have our eye on someone in particular to make this move, this is the kind of trade you make to get "your guy". There's someone there we badly covet, be it Campbell, Jones, Miller or someone we may not even be thinking of...

Because the team that picked him wants to play him... this isn't a videogame, if a team picks a guy they want him and it's much harder to pry them away.

I don't understand why we're even going after Campbell. He can't throw the long ball and his decision-making has been spotty at best. Given that next year's draft reportedly will be a deep one, I think we got fleeced. Now, if we can trade back and get something for Gardner, maybe we'll be laughing about all this. But, until then...... ](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Why not discuss the trade with the Broncos, but wait until after the 24th pick is made and Campbell is still on the board before actually pulling the trigger?
Now we have the 25th pick, very little trade bait, and everyone knows who we want.
It's a precarious situation.

2:00 pm today conference. Maybe that will shed some light, though I bet we'll have more questions than answers...'
I am praying we do not waste this on Jason Campbell... He's good, but not worth all this mess, and Ramsey still hasn't had an entire season to show his worth.
We'll be okay... I hope...

I have a sneaky suspicion here. I've never seen Heath Miller play...or even a single highlight, but from what I've heard he sounds like a big Hog. This would give the Skins a dominating player and blocker at TE. It seems the #25 pick in the first round puts them nicely in his neighborhood. I'm not saying I think they should (draft him)....I have no idea, but the more I think about it the more my gut tells me that maybe this is what they have in mind.

Anyone think that maybe this is a way for the Skins to get Matt Jones without looking silly using their 9 pick? The man is a football player, tall and fast and definitely could be a downfield threat and everyone knows we need all the receiver help we can get. Groomed under Gibbs he could be a great receiver. I think he could be a steal at 25 as some have said he is the best football player in the draft.
Any thoughts?

If we could land Carlos Rogers and Heath Miller with these two picks I'd be pretty happy. As a VT fan I have firsthand knowledge of Miller. He is a gamer.

There are only 4 people who make the decisions on who we will draft...Gibbs, Ceratto, Snyder and Williams...I would bet everything that none of those three would LEAK an accurate report of who we will draft. Dan Snyder as the check writer would definitely not give a player and their agent that much leverage in negotiations.
The report of Jason Campbell is unmeritoriuos, and conjecture at best. There is no guarantee he would be available, and there is no reason that we would ignore our immediate needs at WR and CB, to take a QB. Gibbs has 4 years left on his deal...we can't cut or trade Brunell, Ramsey is under contract, we just signed Hasslebeck, and taking a QB at nine would be EXPENSIVE...
If we did this...I would take a 2 week long nap and hope that when I woke up it were a nightmare.

With most NFL analysts believing this weekend's draft is one of the weakest in memory, the Redskins yesterday surprisingly traded their No. 1 pick next season and two other picks to the Broncos for the 25th overall selection Saturday. One NFL source who has spoken to officials from many clubs said he expected the Redskins to trade the first-round picks for a better selection that would allow them to draft Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards.

i can't believe we're going to use both our 9 and 25 picks (the #25 pick being, apparently, worth next year's 1st rounder and a fourth rounder) all to get Edwards. I'm hoping maybe they wanted to land a late 1st round pick so they could maintain a 1st rounder and trade the 9 pick to someone for a solid vet or two, or maybe a few lower picks.
