TRADE!!!!

Post by RobSkins1 »

The Redskins have completed a trade with the Denver Broncos that brings them the 25th overall pick in this weekend's NFL draft. The trade gives the team two picks in the first round (No. 9 and No. 25) on Saturday.
In return for Denver's 25th pick, the Redskins have given the Broncos' this year's third-round pick (76th overall) and the Redskins first- and fourth-round selections in the 2006 draft.

The Redskins' list of selections for the April 23-24 draft now consists of the 9th and 25th pick in the first round; a fourth-round pick (112 overall); a sixth-round pick (183 overall); and a seventh round pick (222 overall).

Source?

If this is true, it is an absolutley horrendous trade. The number 25 pick for a third round and future first and fourth round pick? To me, that seems downright stupid. Here's to hoping that there is more to this...

I hope this isn't true we have got to stop trading away picks and instead need to get more. I hope and pray Gardner gets us something decent in return. My gut tells me that a deal has probably been worked out to get him out of D.C. once and for all................ :?

Holy crap. How do we sign two first round picks with our cap situation? I hope we parlay this into more picks.

I like the idea...BUT WHY DO WE ALWAYS TRADE FUTURE PICKS? Jesus...our 1st rounder next year AND this year's third and next years 4th.

Lemme get this straight...we traded a FIRST ROUND PICK next year..that may be higher than 25th & two other picks for ONE First Rounder.

That's like buying a 5 dollar bill for 10 bucks

In Gibbs we Trust....

It's true! Just heard it on NFL Access. 3rd this year and 1st & 4th next for their 25th this year.

Who the hell are we targeting that we are sure will be there at 25...?

The only way this makes sense is if we go out and win the Superbowl...that way our 1st round pick would have been the 32nd overall next year...which kind of minimizes the sting of not having a #1 next year....but till then....geez

The 25th pick may go to Oakland for Buchanan and the Faiders 2nd round pick

We sould get the at least a 4th round pick in next years draft for 50/50 so the fourth rounder next year can be replaced but the #1 next year is a big lost. Then again with the escalating Rookie pool and our 2006 cap situation we may not have been able to sirn a #1 next year anyway

Strange for this trade to take place so early.

The only way this makes sense for the Redskins is if one of the top two or three teams are demanding two firsts this year to move up and another trade is in the works. Miami at 2??? Targetting Edwards?

Or a player they really want is being held for a first this year and #9's too high. Howard? Buchanon? I don't know.

This could be good. The skins could keep the 25 and trade into the 2nd of this year and back into the 1st next year with the right trade partner. This could be a good deal in the long run.

If I heard correctly, John Clayton said we traded for the late first rounder to draft a QUARTERBACK!

He said we plan on drafting a CB with the 9th pick.

Hmm... very, very interesting.

Getting to #25 for a QB doesn't make a lot of sense when you look at who's available (Frye) and who's right ahead at #24 and the rumors of them being high on him.

Who the frick are we going to get, Jason fricken Campbell?

I hope we will get Erasmus or Heath with #25.

I forgot about Howard .... but that could work.
I definately see this being the START of what ever it is that Gibbs is working on.

John Clayton is guessing probably as hard as we are. I can't believe we gave up the 1st rounder next year...unless as mentioned earlier, they feel like we can't afford the player anyway...but even then, why not keep the pick and trade back next year for more players?

As much as Gibbs has expressed reluctance to go with inexperienced or rookie quarterbacks...I seriously doubt we will take a QB with the 25 pick. Perhaps this pick is to give us options with the Receivers who may fall into the later 1st. (Troy Williamson, Mark Clayton, Heath Miller Tight End). I'm not sure what the heck we are doing, but whenever it seems too bad...it may end up being great...i hope

He is due over $7 million this year. It wouldn't work.
