The Redskins are damaged
We are Damaged but not enough to be out of repair. Ok we lost Smoot, Pierce. LeVar is having a big mouth and Sean is holding out on a deal. We'll have to do something big in the NFL Draft to scrounge up the rest of this very shaky and lazy Offseason. In Other words... VOTE DUKE SYNDER OUT OF OFFICE AS OWNER!!!! Thank you

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
Breaking a promise to myself to forget this, I want to say this one last time. It is essential to remember when bemoaning the loss of Pierce and Smoot that each of them, respectively, decided they were worth more money than Marcus Washington and Sean Springs.
If the Redskins had simply allowed them to sign elsewhere, that would be one thing but the Skins made very fair offers in both cases.
Each player decided it was worth a few million more to play elsewhere. That is obviously within their perogative but the decision was entirely theirs.
And, while I like Pierce a great deal, the Giants are paying him too much money. Note I did not say he is a bad LB, simply one who is overpaid. Same goes for Smoot.
I'd be happier if they were here next season but not at the prices they set.

Well put Fios. Thanks for laying out so eloquently. We used to be the ones over-paying and everyone thought it was the worst thing ever. Now that we are setting prices and sticking to them, everyone thinks this is the worst thing ever.
RIP 21

Thanks fellas, I've grown tired with the chicken little mentality that seems to have gripped some of the Redskins fans. Having watched the Patriots establish themselves as a dynasty, one would think the decision to exercise fiscal restraint and emphasize character over everything else (not a cheap shot at Pierce or Smoot, both standup guys) would be applauded, not derided.
RIP Sean Taylor
That is some very good insight Fios - we have missed your input. I also totally agree with those analogies and also agree that we will miss those 2 specifically but I think that Greg will adjust and Joe is trying to get a team of players together that want to play and are dedicated to getting better.
As soon as we start getting more effort on the field and Joe has the ability to reward that effort with a better paycheck then we will see players begging to be here for the right reasons and not just cause Danny pays so well!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Solid post Fios!
