Steve Czaban Show...

On my way into work this morning I was listening to the Steve Czaban Show on Fox Sports Radio, and he brought up some interesting points about the LaVar situation. Now, I am not sure if you guys hate or love Czaban, but I think he is great. Anyways, he spent about 10 minutes talking about the LaVar issue, and brought up valid points when he aired audio clips of LaVar before a few of the games last year, when he stated that he was appeciative of the coaching staff and the training staff for their patience and understanding with his injury. He went on to say that the coaches told him he couldn't play, but admitted that he continued to pressure them, and finally they agreed to let him play, and that it was his decision. I e-mailed him to see if he can send me the links for the audio clips, but I wasn't sure if anybody else heard that or not, and just wanted to pass it on, that it was his decision to play, and that he wanted to, contrary to what he is saying now.

He is lucky that Gibbs is such a great manager. If Joe wanted to he could have let LaVar take some serious heat on this issue. Gibbs just calmy reminded LaVar and the press that the truth cannot be refuted.

Czabe shares the same views as many of the posters in the other Lavar thread, namely, that he needs to shut up and play.

He's been that way for a while; his comments are not simply a reaction to the recent happenings. He's been gunnin' for #56 for a while now. Finally, he can let loose on him.

In my mind, I have never seen Lavar as a "core" Redskin. I still think that definition is not well understood by most on this board.

Does Lavar have talent? Yes. Is he one of the best players in the league. Perhaps. Is he one of the high priced me first stars we have had on pathetic Redskin teams in the past few years? Yes.

Is he a Monte Coleman? Or a Donnie Warren? Or a Russ Grimm? Or a Darryl Green? I don't think so. Is he a core Redskin? I don't think so.

That was a great post CaptMorgan........but I must say that I already knew this was the case when Coach Gibbs addressed the LaVar issue. Once Coach Gibbs said that it was LaVar who was eager to play and they let him then I knew that LaVar was full of crap and he was just really really frustrated about his injury. Even though it wasn't right saying what he said I guess I really can't blame him. Every athlete that hurts himself gets pissed off about it.
