I could tell there was something wrong with jamison before the injury was reported. He would play 30-40 min and only have 8-15 points lately.

I wa actually excited when they said Eddie Jordan's name. He was the assistant coach for the Nets teams that went to the finals. He was the guy that actually coached the X's and O's (or whateveer it is bball caoaches draw on that little clipboard). If you notice, since he left, the 'zards have gotten better and the Nets have gotten worse.

The Wizards just destoryed the Hawks. I know it just the Hawks, but it is the way it should be, a playoff team breezing by a lsoing team.

ejay, you need to update your signature

Looks like they will need 6 more wins to wrapup a playoff spot

Just hoping they can make that 4th spot in the east

USA Today wrote:Hughes a steal for Wizards

Larry Hughes returned to Washington's lineup earlier this month after missing seven weeks with a broken thumb. The Wizards were thrilled to have him back after going 9-11 in his absence; the team is 29-19 this season with Hughes on the floor. He is having the best season of his seven-year career, averaging 22 points and leading the NBA in steals by a wide margin with 2.92 per game. He has helped spark a NBA renaissance in the nation's capital as the Wizards head toward their first playoff appearance in eight years. Hughes will also be one of the NBA's prized free agents this summer. He talked to USATODAY.com's Nate Davis about his magical season:

By John Froschauer, AP

Larry Hughes is having the best season of his career and it's no coincidence that the Wizards are having their best season in many years.

Q: You're dominating the NBA in steals per game. Why is that?

A: It's just anticipation. I'm smarter, I see plays develop. I've been around, so I know a lot of guys in the league and I know tendencies. I know where guys want the ball, where guys like to pass the ball from, where double teams come from. It's real easy for me to see things develop.

Q: And it must help playing with Gilbert (Arenas, Hughes' backcourt mate).

A: Oh, definitely. It helps playing with Brendan (Haywood, the Wizards' center) being back there to protect the basket. If I go for something, he has my back. It's nice to have a team that knows what I'm doing and they can help me. I don't get 'em all but I try not to put my team in a bad situation where they get into foul trouble.

Q: Having been through the Jordan era and rebuilding last season, what's it like to play for a winner in Washington.

A: Oh, it's fun. It's real fun to be able to win games and to make a name for ourselves. To have people come in and wonder where this thing is headed and where these wins are coming from. It's fun answering those questions because we've been down for so long and I've lost for so many years now outside this organization. So I'm definitely happy with being on a winning team.

Q: Do you guys talk about that sixth seed, knowing it might bring a homecourt playoff matchup with the Atlantic Division champs?

A: Not really. At this point we can't really be too strategic with what we're doing. We have to just win. Maybe a couple years down the road or next year, we can kinda strategize a little bit but right now, it doesn't matter. We just want to be there and make it happen.

Q: Where do you see this team a month from now?

A: Definitely in the playoffs. Maybe leading this division. Anything could happen. In this month coming up, we have to take care of business on the road and get everybody healthy.

Q: Talking about strategizing for next year, where do you see Larry Hughes a year from now?

A: I think in the same situation I'm in now. On a good team – hopefully here in Washington, where I enjoy playing and I like my teammates. Hopefully we'll be in this same (playoff) push but ten games better than (we are) right now.

Q: Did you give Gilbert a hard time about All-Star weekend? (Arenas finished last in the weekend's skills competition and shot 3-for-11 in his first All-Star game last month.)

A: No I didn't because I've been there (Hughes participated in the 2000 slam dunk contest). You have different events to do, but the game is the most important thing. He came out and showed that he was an All-Star in the game. The skills competition was basically just fun for him. I was surprised that he missed the jump shots but I was rooting for him.

Q: You were obviously headed for your first All-Star selection this year before breaking the thumb. How hard was that for you?

A: It was kinda tough. But what helped me was that my teammates (Arenas and Antawn Jamison) made it. We got a lot of recognition as far as our team and what we're doing and the push that we're making for the playoffs. The All-Star Game was secondary.

Yeah. You would have to add two seasons together to get to 40 before this season.

Win 40 was also the one that broke the record for wins at MCI for a season (and with 12 games to go)

Still ahead of Chicago for the 4 seed in the east too

Next up the Magic

Yeah after being up by 13 in the second half. Didn't see the game (couldn't find it on anywhere) but the box scores indicated that Hughes only had 8 points. Was he injured or something?

I love the Wizards. We're a top power forward or a competetive center away from being one of the top teams. Wake up guys and smell the coffee. One of the exciting things about this team is that's it's done so well in spite of an incredible rash of injuries this year. It's only managed to field its starting team a handful of times.

they need to get their stuff together and start playing team basketball again, or they are going to be one and done in the playoffs.

I expressed my support for my team and cant back down now. I hate the slump they found near the end of the season, but I hope this slump ends now.

JF no!! Don't acknowledge that your acknowledgement of the slump ended it, it'll jinx us again!

And I shouldn't have written that either, come to think of it.

Bulls sure do loom as a big game

Any chance of Gilbert only taking a handful of shots this game??
