Why, why, why do people have the Redskins drafting Adam "Pacman" Jones???

This guy scored a 13 on the Wonderlic, a FREAKING THIRTEEN!!

That scores is so abysmally low that is it estimated that Jones is mentally retarded. I am not joking, the odds of him picking up the system and being effective aren't that good.

Now maybe he's an idiot savant and has a brain for football... but the questions on that Wonderlic test are as follows:

1.) If rope sells at 10 cents a foot then how much rope can you buy for 60 cents?

etc. etc. etc.

How could someone with a college education score so poorly?

We need to avoid him like the plague!

Sean Taylor did too. Remember football is played on the field and not on the classroom. One thing more important than the wonderlic is game instincts and mantalidity, that is not measured on the wonderlic.

im not a big pac man fan either. i think we could use the 9 on another need, and still get a good corner in the 3rd or 2nd if we can acquire a pick.

i didn't know about his wonderlick score, but i don't think it indicates he will suck.

Skinsfan55, we are going to have to disagree again. I think there are alot of questions on the wonderlic that are more difficult than the samples on the website. I believe I read in an article that the low to mid teens are very pedestrian scores. Not brilliant by any means...but I wouldn't say mentally retarded either. Some people also don't test well.

I watched Pac-Man play alot of ball games. He is an exceptional athlete who really has a nose for the ball. He was a big playmaker in college and I don't see why his skills wouldn't translate to the NFL. Some team is going to pick him up in the first round and I think they will get a heck of a ball player.

I agree with you Skinsfan55. I dont ever want to see Jones in a Skin's uni. I hope we trade down for a middle first round and second, I think that it is becoming necessary to draft Merriman with the injury to Lavar.

I would love to trade down and pick up Williamson or Clayton. Unlikely though it may be. I just don't see a problem with picking up Jones if he's the best option avaialable. Why do you not like him jd? I'm just curious since you are in Mo'town and may have a good perspective on it.

Are we saying that Sean Taylor is barely literate?

Are players just blowing off these tests?

I'd certainly like to cross reference these scores with classroom results... assuming of course they didn't take basket weaving.

Football is played on the field but preparation is done in the classroom. Think about how many countless hours of study these guys have to go through. Yes the game is about instincts, but there is also knowledge necessary for the game.
The question is: Is he capable of memorizing different plays in the playbook, audibles, formations, and so on. He might be good in college football but in the NFL it's different.

Yeah but you learn better when you are interested in the subject. ST did fine this year even though he's mentally retarded. :lol:

Football is something these guys have been doing their whole lives. It ain't like ST or Pac-Man are QBs anyway.

ok...pac man schoring a 13 and sean taylor scoring a 10...if these guys were our presidents id be worried...but they football players...I kno some pretty dumb guys who are good at football, I play fball and if any of yall play u wud kno that in football theres no time to think u must react, im preparation u can slightly change your reaction but its all aobut how you react

Pac-man's pick by us will make me nuts. A throw-away. Too small for NFL stardom. Just a wasted pick that would be better spent even on a long-shot project.

OK, first you have to get a really big contract....then you abruptly retire, eat up half of the salary cap, run away with the money and get a job as a commentator. it's ok to suck because CBS will hire any moron. Then you quit that job and make a comeback with a different team and only play well against the team you screwed over.
