Poll: Draft pick.

Post by hatsOFF2gibbs »

Who do you think we will get with our 1st rounder? NOT who you want, who do you think we'll get. Lets all have predictions before the draft and see if the fans of the Skins can get it right. (or...influence...if anyone ever looks at this :))

I say ARolle!

Mike Williams, but we wont get him less we trade up and I cant see that happening, which means I havnt read the thread topic properly (ie who do I think we will get, not who do I WANT us to get) :)

My guess is Rolle.

I don't know why, but I have a sinking suspicion that Gibbs will draft Alex Smith if he is still available. I really really hope that I am wrong. Otherwise I think he will draft Shawn Merriman.

Williams and Edwards will both be gone.

Either they trade up for Edwards or Williams or they try to trade down. If they are succesful in trading down I suspect they will go with defense...perhaps a linebacker or defensive lineman. If they remain in their original slot I'm really not sure what they're going to do....and that's probably a good thing (that other teams similarly may not know what they're going to do).

You guys really believe the Vikings, Buccaneers, AND the Titans are going to let MWillams slip by? I don't believe it. That would be a miracle!!!

BTW, what happened to the poll? I had set up a poll....it was working before...it's not there anymore. ????

With both of the top receivers gone, we should draft the next best thing to help the passing game...Heath Miller

I just dont like the corners at nine. We could trade down and then get one.

There are enough teams looking to trade down such that if we really wanted Williams we could look to do a deal.

We're not trading up. But I think there's a chance. I don't think we should draft a corner, maybe in the later picks.

:) Greetings from NYC. We might be able to move up to 3 with a trade with Clevland. Then we can draft Mike Williams. I remember years ago that Joe Gibbs nickname was Air Gibbs. A recieving trio of Williams,Moss and Patten would certinly open up our running game.

David Patten, Taylor Jacobs, James Thrash, Santana Moss, Darnerian McCants. Yeah, I guess we still need a true #1 wr but this group is sufficient. On the other side of the ball we seem more than a bit thin. Sure we've all got hopes of Garnell Wilds being a player, but that is yet to be seen. Harris and Springs are fine if they stay healthy, but this position seems dangerously thin to me. It's got to be Pac-Man.

As long as we get a CB, I'm happy. =D> =D> =D>

I think we will trade down in the following way: The Eagles trade up and swap for the Vikes #7 for their #31and also give both their 2nd rounders to Minny and the E'girls take M. Williams. Minny does this because they already have a deal in place to move back up to our #9 spot (giving us their #18 and phill's #35) and they take Merriman or Johnson whichever LB they prefer.
If we trade we take Carlos Rodgers at #18 and Matt Jones at #35. But if none of that happens we just take Merriman.

Wow! You've really thought this over huh? Minnesota is going to trade down and then right back up again? hehe.....don't think it's going to happen because the Vikings are in dire need of a #1 WR. (aka MWilliams). That's why they traded RMoss in the first place, they were thinking of the draft and gaining a player that would produce and not cause as many off the field problems!
Nice thinking, though.

That trade scenario would never happen.

I think we should take a CB in the later rounds not in the first round, we need someone who's an impact player.

Why? A CB cannot be an impact player? You were probably thinkng STaylor wasn't going to be an impact player either then. Of course a CB can be an impact player, it might take him 2-4 weeks to get in the rhythm, but it took STaylor the equal amount of time!

Sean Taylor is a beast though. I guess you're right, but I still feel like the number 9 pick should be well worth it.

Glad you agree with me. I think getting a CB in the first round will definitely worth it. But, we'll see.

Don't you mean trade down AND take David Pollack, because he certainly isn't going in the top half of the first round!

Heath Miller is definately not worth #9, plus we dont need a TE that bad. I say Williams if he is there (probably wont be). I would love to trade down a few spots, pick up an extra pick and take a CB. Regardless of what some might think, Harris is not a quality starter.
