The thing I don't understand... is it's just a link... we're directly linking to your file, in your directory, on your server.... so we're not pulling any extra bandwidth that wouldn't normally be pulled.... by clicking on the link here, it's as if we clicked the link on your site... your theory, or theory of your provider doesn't make sense....

So the google ad sense banner up at the top of your site, that has to be there right... you didn't put it there? did you?
Do you mind sharing what he explain to you about the bandwidth problem... verbatim
"You do have unlimited bandwidth, IF the usage agreement is followed. Files hosted on your account are being accessed by other websites on the Internet. This is using our services as a storage system for other websites to save on bandwidth and use ours. This is not allowed."

that is from one of our emails.
Thats almost sounds as if they're accusing the other sites of passing off your videos as their own. Like if we would put links to your videos in our videos section but thats not the case.
Regardless I understand what they're saying. I know a majority of the people here will make an ernest effort to help out on this situation.

i'm just particpating in adsense.818hosting said it was ok.
Oh ok... I was just wondering if they made you have it... because to me, if your paying $6.95 for unlimited bandwith... then there shouldn't be a problem... whether we go to http://www.skinsfanatic.com and then click on your link... or click it here... it is not tying up any extra bandwidth... if we were posting an image... then yes, we would be... but not a link...

You didn't get him in trouble... it's got nothing to do with the link on this site... The video's are large and tie up a ton of bandwidth when people download them and 818hosting doesn't like it... even though they "wow" people by saying, "Unlimted Bandwidth"....

This doesn't have anything to do with theHogs.net as BTP already eloquently stated.
The long and short of it is that with your existing provider... you can't have links from other websites I guess. What if Google puts your link into the search engine... does that link constitute use from 'outside of your site'.
It's a BS way around offering people unlimited bandwidth.
In fairness to your provider... your posting links to HUGE files... HUGE. And then you're inviting hundreds and thousands of people to come view them. You are inevitibly eating huge amounts of bandwidth.
It takes a lot of work and constant effort to keep bandwidth expenditure to a fairly dull roar here... success in doing so is part of the reason that the only 'work stoppage' EVER at THN was due to a hack. Well that and because Tech Hog really does give me pretty much unlimited bandwidth because he knows that I NEVER, EVER do anything for the site without consideration for it's payload.
As this link does not work, I see no reason not to lock this thread. It isn't fair to our users to be going on a wild goose chase.
