Yes. I do.
I like cars a lot.
Especially ones that go real, real fast.
I like red cars, too. I like red cars that go real, real fast.
Do you like red cars that go real, real fast too ? I do.
Sometimes, when I'm sitting on our bus, and I see a real, real fast car go by that is red, it makes me happy, and I clap and laugh.
I also like to collect shoelaces. I have a shoelace with round smiley faces that are yellow. I think that I would like to have a real fast red car to watch, and maybe they would let me get real close to it. Could I touch it ? It might be too hot. That would hurt.
I would give them one of my shoelaces if they would, but not the one with the round smiley faces that are yellow. Maybe the reddish-brown one that I was taking the cat for a walk with when they took me away.
I miss my kitty.
Sorry. I got NASCAR issues.

Maybe that is too much to ask. TC can not add and subtract THAT quickly.Jake wrote:Rain man... is that you?
And I was interested to talk/write about some real HP, torque, and transmissions...
Nobody excited about the new C6 Vette or the new Mustang?

Now all I have is the constant decline of the US automakers to go with.

At least Justice has a thing for two wheels...

The latest issue of Road and Track has not one but six different Mustangs that have been "juiced" to give in excess of 350 hp. I love the retro look but I am not sure how good they really are on the twisties. The new Mustang stands on the Jag S platform and it is a much better bang for the money.
I own a convertible, not a mustang but still, and it is not as solid as a sedan in the slalom. HOWEVER, nothing beats driving a convertible on a good spring-summer-fall day. My baby stays in the garage during the winter.
I am very impressed with the C6 Vette. It is a great car for a fraction of the price of a Porsche 911. A new Vette is not cheap but probably as close as some real people will ever come to own (or day-dream about) a supercar as possible.

Redeemed, I do not blame you for the blasfemy. Vettes used to be good only to go straight for a long while. But the new C6 can truly give a Porsche a run for its money around a complex circuit for a fraction of the cost.
I know a car may sound frivolous to some with more pressing needs such as an education for kids and all. But one does not have to own them to admire the progress. If only GM could make other more affordable cars as good as they make the new Vette! The shape is truly beautiful too.

I do not work out miracles as others do in this site BUT I will give it a try:REDEEMEDSKIN wrote:C'mon RIC, make me a believer!!!!
This is the Mustang
This is the C6 Vette .
These are actually good news for the North American Auto Industry (good for jobs and the consumers in the market). But, for some strange reason, a lot of people do not seem to care much. Maybe it is too late (certainly not too little) to turn around their faith with cars like these. But I would have assumed that with the emphasis on national fervour and patriotism someone would have noticed.
Interestingly, I still remember an interview of a US F-15 pilot during the first Iraq war. When asked how an F-15 compared to the Mig fighters used by the old Saddam regime: he responded "theirs work as American cars, ours work like Acuras"

These cars are solid efforts to turn things around. I do not like the Chrysler 300C but other people think the world of it.

While I'm not in the market for a vehicle at the moment, I am for supporting American-made products. For instance, I found out recently that New Balance is the only sneaker company that still makes its sneakers in the U.S.A. and it does not pay for endorsements, like Nike and the other big boys. I used to stay away from the NBs simply because the price tag was too high (I usually get sneakers $29.99 and under), but now I will be a loyal NB wearer. We need to support the people in those American factories.

I love the Chrysler 300C!! In every variation of spelling, it is a "phat" car. Chrysler has itself a winner! As a matter of fact, it seems that Chrysler has been the most daring American company in recent years, in terms of their design.

Back and better than ever!

I actually just got a job to videotape some of the show this coming week. Should be fun, according to my super.
If any of you guys are gonna be there and have been waiting for the right time to lynch me, now would be that time.

OK, I hear you could get a chance to seat on the yellow C6 coupe Vette that is going to be on display.Primetime42 wrote:I actually just got a job to videotape some of the show this coming week. Should be fun, according to my super.

Do not mind the small package with a cell phone, wires and sticks under the engine... They just did not get around to wire it properly for the show...

Now wait just a minute. I hain't done a 180 just yet. I'm beginning to see what you see in cars, but, I am by far a car enthusiast. That's downright sinful.

My real weakness are drums....

I intend to stop over at Drummers World in NY soon to buy my favourite percussion instrument, a Water Phone:
I also have a few drums from Nigeria (talking drum with strings), Mauritius (Dholok), Brazil, and a few other percussion instruments as collector items. It is cheaper to collect musical instruments than cars!
