New coach Mike Nolan and GM Scot McCloughan want to trade down but can't find a willing partner. They have many needs and will take the best player available. Edwards is big (6-3, 211) and fast (4.45 speed), has great hands and has the potential to become an All-Pro receiver. He is a sure thing, which can't be said of QBs Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith.
I could swear I've heard that before... :-"
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
They must be joking too... All these guys making these Mock Drafts have been jokety funny ha-ha jokesters lately... I'm trying to get some REAL draft insight here, so stop be comedians you bastards...
I'm done...

This mock draft is kind of shocking to me. It has 3 WRs going in the top 7 picks - can that be true??! And then they have a 4th going at #11 to Cowboys. Last years class, which many regarded as very deep, took till the 9th pick to get a 3rd WR drafted. And then the 4th one went at 13 to Buffalo. What does everything think we do if we can't get a WR that high....try to trade down?
I saw (or heard) a report that the 49ers were leaning towards Edwards even before BossHog and Wingman's Mock Draft came out so I wasn't surprised to see him picked in the #1 spot by anyone.

#60 Chris Samuels: 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time Pro Bowl left tackle!
Does anyone else think that this year, the two QB's have been mentioned as the #1 overall picks just because that is the new trend in the NFL?
If Matt Leinart came out, he would be the obvious number 1, but I really don't see Rogers and Smith as the best players, they are the best quarterbacks which, by default, seems to make them now the 1st pick?
Not selling them short at all, but I imagine that they benefit by Leinart's decision. If Leinart was in the mix, I can't imagine that either of those guys would go 2nd. anyone else agree/disagree?
I don't understand why everyone is so shocked with a WR going #1. Edwards is regarded by many as the best draft prospect in this draft. Why shouldn't he go #1?
Adam Jones!? Why, wouldn't they have the Skins pick Rolle and the Texans Jones? I know it's just a mock draft but

"It’s limited me in some ways but has been beneficial in others. It’s like I have a couple of clubs on my hands. I just have to hit people with them."
Never mind, please just ignore that last post. I just realized who Jones is...my bad.

I agree, but I think the reason QB are mostly taken is becausse normally if you dont have a good QB, you are going to lose.
And when you have the first pick that means you have the worst record, so that means your QB probably sucks.
However in the 49ers case, I think the upgrade from Ratay to Smith or Rodgers is alright
But the upgrade from Brandon Lloyd to Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams is huge.
