Giants Expected To Sign David Terrell This Week

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Giants Expected To Sign David Terrell This Week

Post by Jake »

Mar. 15 - Wide receiver David Terrell is expected to sign with the Giants this week, The New York Post reports. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft, Terrell was released by the Bears after they signed Mushin Muhammad to a six-year, $30 million contract.

Speaking of Eli makes me think of their O-line. Are they still going to be miserable there, or are they actually improving?

Giants: WR Terrell goes Burress' route, fires agent
Wednesday, March 16, 2005
BY MIKE GARAFOLO
Star-Ledger Staff
David Terrell pulled a Plaxico Burress. Twice
.

One day after it was reported that Terrell was close to signing a deal with the Giants, the free-agent wide receiver fired his agent, the NFLPA confirmed yesterday. It was a move that must have seemed like déjà vu to the Giants, who encountered a similar situation when they attempted to sign Burress last week.

But it was also the second time in less than three weeks that Terrell changed representation. Before being released by the Bears late last month, Terrell fired Eugene Parker, his agent since Chicago selected him with the eighth overall pick in 2001. He then hired Matthew Couloute, who immediately began negotiating with teams.

The Buccaneers showed interest in Terrell, Couloute said yesterday but offered what he termed a "minimum" deal. The Giants, who met with Terrell last week, made a better offer on Friday. But after considering the contract over the weekend, Terrell decided to walk away from the negotiations and his agent on Monday.

I think that their o-line is still weak, but even if it wasn't I don't think Terrel is that big of a WR threat.

If Eli Manning ever meets his apparent potential, he could make any legitimate receiver a threat.
No signs of that coming, though. :)

He's in the long shadow of Kerry Collins.
