CB has had a lot of injuries over his short career, but what makes me optimistic about him is that all the injuries were to different parts of his body. He doesn't have a chronicly bad toe, or back, or knee. I think he has just been unlucky so far. I would like to pick him up, and apparently he wants to come here. Then we would have the # 1, 2, and 3 picks from the 2000 draft. That would be pretty cool.

Courtney Brown's injury list.

From ESPN: "But Brown also represents a gamble because he hasn't played a full season since his rookie year. He has missed 33 games with injuries over the past four seasons, including the final 14 games last year after tearing a ligament in his foot.

Brown's other injuries have included a torn knee ligament, a high ankle sprain, knee cartilage damage and a ruptured right biceps tendon."

I see this as a low risk, high reward situation.

This guy was a menace in college so we know he can play. He never received anywhere near the level of coaching in Cleveland that he would be getting in Washington. I'm not saying this guy is ever gonna be worthy of #1 overall pick status, but he could be a valuable contributor to our defense.

Gibbs doesn't visit players unless he's already decided that he wants the guy. Hopefully we'll have better luck than last year when Gibbs wined and dined Brunell.

If the Broncos dont find a way to sign him i dont think he will leave D.C. He has to know that he can't command a whole lot based on his play, and the lack thereof for the past 5 seasons. I think he'll take a cap friendly contract. With a higher level of coaching, and our d-line rotation i believe the guy will be coached back into the monster that made him the #1 pick in 2000.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that C Brown signs with the Skins based on 3 things. LaVar, Williams defense, and Gibbs Christian view. Brown is a very very devout christian and was very very active at PSU with AIA etc. I think that will be the swaying point for him.

If what you say about AIA is accurate then Brown will be a Redskin. He fits the Gibbs mold. And that would be awesome!

Its seems that everyone is worried about CB's injury history. But all of his injuries are in different parts of the body. I think that this is positive in that it seems to be a series of freak occurances.

This does not seem to be the same as say Grant Hill who continues to injure the same body part. So while its true CB has a bad history of injuries he does not have chronic problem with one body part. It'll work out... I am giving the Natale Guarantee!!

WASHINGTON -- Joe Gibbs wasted no time before starting a pursuit of former No. 1 overall draft pick Courtney Brown.

Brown

Within hours after Browns' release by the Cleveland Browns, the Washington Redskins coach flew to Cleveland with defensive line coach Greg Blache and had dinner with Brown and Brown's wife Monday night, an official within the league told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

The official said Brown was expected to visit Redskins Park later this week.

Brown, the first overall choice in the 2000 draft, was cut by Cleveland because he would not renegotiate his contract. He would have been due a $2.5 million roster bonus Tuesday. Browns general manager Phil Savage said he still hoped the team could re-sign the oft-injured defensive end.

But Brown quickly drew interest from other teams, including the Redskins. Washington is in need of a pass-rushing end, having relied heavily on linebackers and cornerbacks for many of their sacks last season.

Brown was also a teammate at Penn State with Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington, the No. 2 overall pick in 2000. If Washington acquires Brown, the team will have the top three picks from that draft: Brown, Arrington and tackle Chris Samuels.

I'm guessing JGibbs doesn't really care too much of his injuries. I think he's right to go and try to fetch this guy. Seems similar to the SSprings situtation!

I knew it would be long before this was mentioned. How clever of you to hide it, but to the trained eye its obvious what you're saying. This man has deemed Brown as a CORE REDSKIN!

LOL. Im excited about this possible acquisition. This will give us a lot of leverage in the draft.

C Brown totally fits the gibbs mold. A friend of mine spent some time in Athletes in Action with brown at PSU and she was amazed at how devoutly christian he was. She said he was very take charge in discussions and always was consciencious about how his actions affected others. Role Model and a sweet mentor for taylor

Not only will he want to play for GW's defense, but both Brown and GW are represented by the same agent.

Did anyone learn how important injuries were last year? How many starters did we loose from injuries? Walt Harris is only a crack in the sidewalk away from Injured reserve and we have alot of people coming back fro IR from last season.

Vinnie and Dan save your money and pass on him. There are lots of DE's in this years draft.
