Jason Taylor

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Wow, Jason Taylor is a one of the BEST pass rushing DE's in the league. He is so quick out of his 4-point stance that not many LT's have chance. He would be great in a 'Skins uni, but would probably cost way too much.

Love the new look Hill..

I doubt Jason Taylor is going anywhere. There's nothing wrong with depth.

Yeah, its just a dream...
The Dolphins also cut Boston because he failed his physical. This guy was great in Arizona, a HUGE target. To bad injuries have plagued him since he left.

I heard on the NFL Network that the Fins are moving Taylor to linebacker.

Don't know how true it is but it remains to be seen.

Taylor's doesn't want to move to LB and has asked to be traded to a 4-3 team.

There aren't many cap implications so he realistically should be available for the right price. It's hard to say what his value will be. His production is in decline and age is starting to be a factor for a "speed" player.

I posted this in the Rumor thread yesterday...

profootballtalk.com wrote:TAYLOR WANTS OUT OF MIAMI?

A league source tells us that, in the wake of the Miami Dolphins' acquisition of defensive ends Vonnie Holliday and Kevin Carter, Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor soon could be requesting a trade out of Miami.

Taylor, we hear, is miffed by the possibility that he'll be shifted to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. Such a change would reducing Taylor's sacks by limiting the number of times that he actually would be rushing the passer.

The fact that Taylor is a prominent member of the "old guard" Dolphins players also could be influencing the burgeoning feud. New coach Nick Saban, we suspect, probably would like to jettison holdover players who are in position to undermine the new regime in the locker room. But Saban surely can't unilaterally dump Taylor with incurring the wrath of the fan base and the local media (whom Saban already has pissed off by clamping down on the flow of information).

So what better way to engineer Taylor's exit than to goad him into asking to be traded? This way, Saban gets what we believe he really wants without (if he's lucky) the P.R. fallout.

If Taylor ends up on the block, the most obvious trade partners are any of the three teams with franchise-tagged running back.

The Seahawks have running Shaun Alexander, and need a replacement of Chike Okeafor. The Bengals have Rudi Johnson, and Justin Smith is entering the final year of his contract. And the Colts have Edgerrin James as part of an offense with far more firepower than the team's defense.

The fact that Dwight Freeney is entrenched as the right-side defensive end in Indy might, on the surface, reduce the Colts' interest in Taylor. However, Taylor moved around a good bit in 2004, and he got half of his sacks from the left side, where he typically was facing the opponents' second best tackle.

Stay tuned. We have a feeling that the situation is going to deteriorate quickly in South Florida.

For Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor would you part with our #9 and Rod Gardner

Cant we just abolish the salary cap and become the NFL's version of the Yankees?

Why can't we become the team that spends 100 million more than any other team and still gets their pants pulled down and spanked like a misbehaving little girl on national TV during the playoffs?

Hmmmm... I think if given the option, I'd rather NOT be the loser Yankees I want to BUILD a team, not just buy every FA in sight like the Bruce Smith, Dieon, etc. team... ::shiver::

We're well on our way without overspending.

Its crazy aint it? You'd think people would learn. I'd be happy if we didn't sign anyone other than that center, and resigned all of our people. That would have been a successful F/A for me and just utilize the draft efficiently.
