who is out there
I think we still need a DE so who can we pick up or do we keep what we got
the redskins #1

I like Derrick Burgess of Philly, but he is proably too much $ for us. I say we just keep our guys and maybe upgrade in the draft.
I think old DE are useless against the new age young and athletic OT, EX: Bruce Smith.

The Hogster wrote:Plaxico Burres' stas over the past 5 years are worse than Rod Gardner's check the stats at ESPN.com We run a similar, run heavy offense as Pitt and he said he wanted more balls...not sure plax is right for us, especially with the amount of money he wants.
plax turned down an 8 million offer from the giants... this guy is living in la la land... we aren't going to get him...
the hogster is right... gardner is probably better than plax... we will probably end up with a third round pick for gardner... if there is a bidding war (not likely) we may get a second...

Washington's mentioned as a potential trade partner with New Orleans for franchised Darren Howard by the Times Picayune.
Problem is they're looking for a late first (9th's too high to trade for him) and Howard's looking for a $17 million SB which is an impossibility for Washington's current cap status.

This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

I assure that no team in the NFL will give Darren Howard a 17 million SB

One, I didn't say he would get that but rather that's what he's asking and two, he's a better DE than Grant Winstrom and his $16 millioin SB.

PBurress? I know a lot of yall don't like him....but if we had the cap space I'd pick him up.
But I'm no coach........
I'd pick up Burress in a heartbeat. I can't imagine why all these teams are hating on him. There must be something really wrong for teams to shun the guy this way. The guy is prototypical size and speed, he caught very few balls last season, never bitched, worked hard to get blocks and overall was a great team player. He's only asking for what Mushim got, and I just don't understand why he's gettin no love

Because he is not a Mushin quality WR, he is a Rod Gardner quality WR. Should Rod get M&M type money?

how is he not mushim quality? He's got good hands, he's big, he's fast, he's a good blocker and he is a team guy. Those are the things I've read about him. The only thing that I never saw was if he was good or bad on route running. I know he has a past, but what else makes him not in mushim's category?

he is no where near Mushin... if Rod Gardner is 50/50 then Plaxico is 55/45
Plaxico isnt a great route runner... i think his hands are suspect... but his biggest problem is what is in between his ears... the guy is dumb and has ego problems...
didn't you see the play when he caught a 15 yard in... went down and made a great grab on third down... other wise the ball would have hit the ground... sounds great right...
well this idiot thought he was still in college... b/c he wasnt touched by a defender got up and celebrated by spiking the ball... duh..... that is a fumble... other team recovered... this is just one illustration of why plaxico isn't signing for big money...
i would rather have gardner...

I'm not sold on Plaxico myself and he probably wants more money than we can give him, but one plus is he is an excellent run blocking WR and may be a little bit faster than Gardner.
