Cowboys' guard Marco Rivera will be sidelined for three-to-five weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disc, according to the Dallas Morning News. The 32 year-old veteran joined the Cowboys last week after signing a five-year, $20 million contract that included a $9 million signing bonus. Rivera is expected to be ready for training camp in July.

Rivera told team officials he suffered the injury while working out on a treadmill on Tuesday. Although the timing raises some red flags, it's worth noting that Rivera passed a physical before he signed with the Cowboys last week. If nothing else, this might make team owner Jerry Jones think twice about signing a 32 year-old lineman to a long-term contract.
