Wide Receiver
Ok. So we have gotten David Patten from the Pats, and now Santana Moss from the Jets. But is that enough?
I think it's good to have the speed that these guys bring to the table, but I still believe we need the big, tall, physical receiver, too. I think we still need to address this in the Draft by getting either Edwards from Michigan or Williams from USC. These are the types of receivers we need, too. We have lacked that kind of player for quite some time. Hopefully Joe, Dan, and Vinny Cerrato know this and do what's best for the Skins.
What are your thoughts on this?

Ideally yes we need a big receiver. But with Moss and Patten just arriving I think we don't need anymore turnover at that position. We really have no established relationship with Ramsey and any other these receivers on our current roster. So let SLOW DOWN now and see how Ramsey works with these receivers next season. If we think its still a problem we will address it next season.
No more receivers!!

lol, what the hell?
Slow down! We don't want to actually COMPLETE the revamping of the reciever corps! Lets just stop while the job is halfway completed! We don't want to move too fast!

i think were going to be good to go.
and if we draft Mike Williams weel be even better to go.
But if we dont need Mike then we should get Erasmus James we do need a pass rushing DE
i agree, except i might trade up and get shawne merriman...

I am tired of this "#1 receiver" or "he's just a #3 receiver." They are all receivers. How is Jacobs going to develop if we don't give him a chance? As far as I am concerned its an open competition b/t Patten, Moss, Jacobs, and Thrash. We just invested some money in Patten and will soon in Moss. Lets give these guys a chance instead of bringing in yet another face. I don't want to have players a just signed riding the pine (a la DMac.)
Lets give a serious look to the receivers we have now and if we feel more is needed that will be addressed next season.

While it's nice to believe that all receivers are equal because they're made of rainbows and leprechaun farts, it's not quite true.
Jerry Rice wasn't just lucky at rock/scissors/paper, he was simply better than everyone else for a long, long time.

Did I forget the "S" in front of he's...damn I'm going straight to hell with all the cowGIRLS fans

But really I have no problem with she. In fact I'm more comfortable with that, knowing she's watching my every move

I'm new to the site, but it looks great. Hail to the Redskins! I've been bleeding burgendy and gold for about 25 years now, and will never stop
David Patten should be a nice add, and hopefully Santana Moss will perform at least as well as Coles--if the whole offense can play together..I think it will be a good move.
But it's nice to see Gibbs pleased with the team overall, and not needing to pay out $50 million in signing bonuses this year, just a few needed WR's and a C. Hopefully it all pays off.
Hopefully Smoot stays, but you never know...

Absolutely. I've never understood people saying "we need a #1, we need a #2 receiver". Unless you're trading for Rice (in his heyday), Moss (Randy) or Harrison, people don't arrive as #1 receivers. Especially when Gibbs is the coach. Our number 1 receiver will be the one with the most catches at the end of the season.
Now, if you want to argue that we need a bigger receiver, or a possession kind of receiver, that's different. I might be inclined to agree with that, but I'd like to find out what sort of playes Jacobs and McCants are first. Our "go to" guys might just already be on the roster - let's see how things evolve, shall we?

Hallelujah, I have been saying this for weeks. We really have no idea what DMac and Jacobs are capable of. Hopefully they will get the opportunity to compete for a spot with the starting line up.
