SKINSLOVER, he might not grab 7 picks a year or have 100 tackles, but he seems to always have his nose around the ball and comes up with a play when we need it. His habit of playing off recievers is a coaching scheme, not a personal trait. Also, unlike most marquee corners like CHAMP, or Deion in his prime, he TACKLES PEOPLE!!! He is the heart and soul of our d-backfield, and he has a way of rousing the fans and players. SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!

Smoot is good, no doubt, but to have the Redskins by the balls and becoming selfish..it's just not worth it. If worse comes to worst and he leaves...no worries, Greg Williams will fix that. I mean look at Sean Springs...When he signed, I was like: "Whose this guy?". He turned out to be really good. Smoot is not much better than Springs... Cornerbacks are no big deal in the Redskins system. If Smoot want's to be selfish and not settle a fair agreement, then..'Good times Smoot, good luck down the road'.

Fellas, i would have to agree that Fred Smoot is a decent corner but not nearly worth more than a 8-9 million signing bonus. I like Fred but lets be honest he can't cover anyone between 1-15 yards (Keyshawn J- Dallas converted two 4th downs on Fred). I will give him the proper respect to say he battles hard but realistic i would not be disappointed if we just went with Harris and maybe picked up a corner back in the draft. If you think about it, he is not better than Springs and so why would we pay him more!

Well Smoot may not be the best CB around and he amy not even be as good as Shaun Springs but he will only get better with age and staying within a solid defenseive scheme. I like him and think he is a young and talented CB. I think we should keep him and watch him grow. A 10 million + signing bonus might not look like a lot a couple years from now when he is at the top of his game.

Lavar, you are aware Springs is a former high first round pick?

im glad some of you guys actually have some football knowledge.....Smoot needs to stay. He is young and I personally see it as a waste for him to leave and us waste our pick on another young corner in draft when we already have a young healthy tough player. Smoot does a lot of the little things like interupt screens and knocks away a lot of balls. SSSMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTT
