Cowboys get NT Ferguson for 3-4?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Cowboys get NT Ferguson for 3-4?

Post by BossHog »

Terms of the contract were unavailable.

The move left the Jets, who felt they were close to a deal with Ferguson, scrambling to find a replacement. They're eyeing Bills free agent defensive tackle Pat Williams, trying to get him to fly to New York today. Williams is believed to have several bidders, including one from the Vikings.

Ferguson, 30, will be reunited with Parcells, who drafted him in the seventh round out of Georgia in 1997. He played three seasons under Parcells and one season with while while Parcells was in the Jets' front office.

So it looks like the Cowboys are going to make the move to a 3-4 for sure...

They will be forced to retool their entire front 7. They have the cap and the picks to do so, but I think they have other areas of concern and that this might make a little more difficult to address everything.

Ellis is probably their best defender but he's virtually useless in a 3-4.

God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I don'tthink Glover could have ever played nose anyway, but he might be able to play defensive end in the 3-4. It's a lot to ask though...

Let's wait until all the pieces are in place before we start declaring the 3-4 a done deal.

They still need 2-3 LB's

I think the 3-4 talk is a bit premature.

Ferguson had his best season playing the 1T in the 4-3.
This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

... the Cowboys own website said a few days ago that while the Brass weren't going to tell everyone what they were doing defensively... that the Cowboys moves early in free agency would be an indication of where they were going.

PERSONALLY, I think when the first thing they do in FA is add a prospective NT... that means they're moving to a 3-4.

But it is only my opinion.

Note the question mark at the end of the subject thread.

The Cowboys terminated Coakley's contract on Tuesday afternoon to avoid paying him a $502,000 roster bonus. In a Tuesday morning meeting, coach Bill Parcells told Coakley that the Cowboys would like to retain him, even if it meant releasing him then re-signing him, but that his role would be reduced as Dallas moved to a 3-4 defense.

Good thing about message boards, is you can determine who's credible as it suits your needs

no... but this is him paraphrasing Parcells... I'm sure he's not gonna make up that Bill Parcells is saying that he's going to move to a 3-4...

It's easier to say that the redskins were offering some guy a bonus of up to $15 mil... because there's no one to prove him other wise... because he didn't indicate a certain person to call him out on it...

so go back to work.. you sinner
