Moss to Raiders

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Moss to Raiders

Post by Skeletor »

The Vikings and Oakland Raiders have agreed to a trade that will send Vikings receiver Randy Moss to the Raiders in exchange for the seventh overall pick in this year's draft, linebacker Napoleon Harris and a low-round draft pick this year, a person with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.

"It's sort of a bittersweet moment for Randy," said his agent, Dante DiTrapano. "He had seven years in Minnesota, and he loved being a Viking. But, at the same time, this gives him a better chance to win a Super Bowl. The Oakland Raiders have vowed to use Randy like he has been used the past seven years, and that's throw the ball deep."

NFL trades can't become official until March 2. Because of that, the Vikings aren't able to comment on Moss' status.

"We've had discussions with the Raiders, but we have nothing to say about it," said Rob Brzezinski, Vikings vice president of football operations. "That's all we can say."

Moss has been rumored to be on the trading block since the end of a injury-plagued and controversial-filled 2004 season. Brzezinski said the Vikings did not shop Moss, and that the Raiders contacted them recently to initiate trade talks.

Yes, the Vikings will use the pick on a WR...or TE Heather Miller.

Derrick Mason's value just went up...as did all the other free agent WR's. We NEED to get something in return for Coles.

Look what the Vikings just got for Moss....the Redskins better do something similar...don't get screwed.

looks like we're trading down this draft...i kinda prefer it. as much as i'd like to have williams, we can still get a good wr in FA and get more picks to take a quality DE and OL

Oh yeah, Oakland has a great shot at making the Super Bowl, especially in the AFC

But anyways i agree, our chances of getting Williams are slim to none now, plus ive heard Williams has been working out Chris Carter...

This sucks. I'm glad Moss isn't coming to the NFC East, but now this hurts our chances to get Williams and Edwards. I hope the Vikings draft defense with the #7 overall and then use their #18 overall for a WR. Some people will say trade down, but what if Dallas grabs Troy Williamson. Then we will really be screwed. I wouldn't be against trading up to get Williams or Edwards.
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.

Damn, It looks more and more like Mike Williams and Braylon Edwards will be gone before the 9th pick, With the trade of Randy Moss to Oakland that didnt help either, Its not really official yet, Hopefully it wont happen..The Vikings would most likely pick a reciever if they trade Moss

I'm glad to read this. I didn't want Moss at all.

The Vikes will draft defense with their first pick. That is their biggest weakness. Has been for years. They don't need a receiver THAT bad but I'm sure it will be addressed through free agency.
