Mark it Down

Post by Redskins2k5 »

March 2 begins free agency. Like last year when Gibbs went all out to improve our Defense(signings of Springs, Griffin, Barrow, Walt Harris, and Daniels) this year he will do with the Offense. I say he will go after a prime WR, and Depth at the O-L. Gibbs Drafted Sean Taylor this year he will sign TE Heath Miller from UVA.

I think JG will pass on Miller for the same reason that he passed on KWII, it would have been a wasted pick. To pick a prolific reciever like either of them, you need to be willing to commit to throwing to them OFTEN. When has JG ever built an offense around a TE. C'mon, people.

He is going to get a WR, period! He needs to stretch the field, and he may even drop down to get additional picks in the process.

JG is no fool. He didn't pass deep this year because he was afraid the line would not protect Ramsey long enough, and he had no confidence in the WR corps to get open.

Just my thoughts...

yeah, but if you draft a WR wouldnt you have to be committed to throwing to him too? and if your scared to throw it deep to Laverneous Coles and crew than your a straight up wimp, and Joe Gibbs is not a wimp.

Why does everybody forget about Chris Cooley? He was a huge success this season, so no need to go out and draft a TE that is going to catch well... Cooley dropped one pass that he should have caught all season... they need to get a TE that is a blocking TE for 3rd down and goal line situations, as well as a big FB or RB for those situations...

We don't need a TE . I think you draft a WR or CB in the 1st round but it all depends on the free agents they sign.

I'd like to see the team enhance their offensive line depth in the free agency period if possible, so that an injury such as the one Jansen incurred doesn't cripple the unit as it did this past season. Then when the draft rolls around, they can feel free to take one of the top receivers that will be in the draft...
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

Cooley was good this year, but he was more of a fill in player then a true TE. I think Heath Miller would be a good pick.

Where are people drawing the conclusion that we need a TE? Esp. to use our #9 pick for, I have a feeling we will trade down if the WR's we want are not still there but, Royal started coming through nicely at the end of the season and can block. Cooley is awsome, but he's at the H back position.

Cooley just a fill in? Cooley is a true TE and will be great player in years to come.

Cooley is not the Redskins TE. He is their HB. We need to add a TE. Royal is our only young TE. Kozlowski is a FA and is old. We have no one else.

The Redskins Signed Former New England Patriots and Houston Texans Tight End Jabari Holloway.
