Sammy Sosa will take his next swings in Baltimore, reports ESPN's Tim Kurkjian. Chicago has agreed to trade the unhappy slugger to the O's in exchange for Jerry Hariston Jr., and two prospects...
I think it sucks that the O's sent Hairston but I like the idea of bringing in a big name, especially Sosa. I just wish the Nationals could have gotten him.

It definitely smells of Albert Belle... I've been a long time fan of the Cubs and Sammy but this is totally an Angelos move to try and draw a few fans.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.
Sammy, at one time, was one of the hottest properties in baseball. The corking, the steroids and the no-show in the last game of the season did away with the last vestiges of popularity and respect from the Cub fans.
I heard somebody saying that the only reason Sammy left early last season was because the Cubs were eliminated from the postseason. He went on to say, "Well, the O's will be eliminated by June. What'll Sammy do then ?"
It's true, it's true. I did read that.
"Sit back and watch the Redskins.
SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"

I'm a diehard Cubs' fan and, I hate to say it, but Sammy Sosa is an anchor around the neck of my team. It is ashame that he's leaving under these circumstances, but he and his overblown ego are at least partially responsible for this. You don't walk out on the team during a game, like a kid skipping school, and try to put the blame on someone else. I think Sammy still has some good baseball left in him and he'll want to prove that this year. He absolutely loves being the center of fans' attention and he won't want his legacy tarnished by what happened last year.
