Voting for new redskins uniforms?

Post by Hog lover »

I am submitting this post simply because i am tired of watching the team i love wear the same old uniforms for the last 15 years. I think that we have a new team with and old winning like qualities and this is why i believe a make-over is needed badly. I know that most of us could care less what the skins wear during game day but i believe that this the time to make the change. I would love to know your thoughts on this subject. If you agree with me lets get the fans in of the redskins to vote for the redskins to update there uniforms! I also believe that this will actually provide for revenue for Mr. Danny Boy anyway!

What ever happened to traditon? Let's remember we won three super bowls with this uniform.

I'm for sticking with it.

I totally agree with you with the tradition comment but i believe that sometimes a change could be best. It seems like every other team in the league has changed there uniform besides us and Dallas! I definitely would like to see the logo on the helmet changed back to the spear.

You can tell by my avatar I am old school and not looking to change much, if any - and the spear makes us look like Florida State which I can do without.

Here is one of many threads dedicated to this topic.

I just wish we would wear our burgundy jerseys more. The marching band could use some new digs, though.

I agree.
Gibbs will stick to these uniforms just like he stuck to Brunell.

Why do you guys want to change? I honestly don't think the redskins uniforms look all that bad. What, do you guys think they will look more modern if you add some sissy differently colored side panels, or a narrowing stripe either down the side of the pants or on the helmet like the Broncos? Any changes in uniforms are made simply to sell more merchandise. You may like the fact that there is a change at first. But after a few weeks it'll get old and you'll want the old uniforms back.

Absolutely NOT!!! Some teams benefit from a uniform change, while others don't. Not only have the Redskins and Dallas not changed their uniforms, but neither have:

Green Bay

Chicago

The Raiders

Minnesota

Kansas City

Pittsburgh

Indy

Cleveland

Any changes made by these teams have been minimal, if at all. Some uniforms are just not meant to be changed.

Keep the uniforms the way they are, instead of making them look like we belong in the now defunct USFL.

End of discussion!!! :-)
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

It's called "tradition", which most of the other teams don't have! They shouldn't change them. Maybe for a few games, but not forever! That would be like the Yankees or Red Sox changing uniforms, they have a "history" and those uniforms mean something!

What? Our dark uniforms are pretty bad IMO...

I hate to admit that I agree with a Dallas fan but he's totally right. What, do you want to look like the new Bills or Bengles uni's? All these new uniforms (and the NBA does it too) look like they're from the USFL or the Arena league. Our team and franchise are based in tradition, if anything, take one of our old uniforms and reuse it. Bring back the big R on the helmet but please don't go with the current trend of splashy/flashy uniforms. That would be weak.

I love our dark uni's over the white ones. I think there's probably an even divide on this subject alone based on who buy's what color jersey. (mine's burgundy if you can't tell)

Don't get me wrong, the burgundy jersey looks good with a pair of jeans... but not with a pair of white pants and a burgundy helmet, lol

Skinsfan55, you forgot, though, the burgundy socks ties the whole outfit together. Accessories, accesories!!!!

If they look sweet, they play sweet, and the burgundy helmet, jersey and socks are the new look for 2005!!!

We have the perfect uniforms, no need for change. But if we do, please not the arrow helmet!

I am another "olds school" guy who knows that those uniforms have been tested in heroic battles. Ant is right.

It would be against natural law to change them:

natural law
n. 1) standards of conduct derived from traditional moral principles (first mentioned by Roman jurists in the first century A.D.) and/or God's law and will. The biblical ten commandments, such as "thou shall not kill," are often included in those principles. Natural law assumes that all people believe in the same Judeo-Christian God and thus share an understanding of natural law premises. 2) the body of laws derived from nature and reason, embodied in the Declaration of Independence assertion that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness." 3) the practice of Joe Gibbs teams to defend burgundy and gold with passion and courage.

Everone knows that the world is afraid of change.I guess if you are use to do something for over fifteen years and you have to change, it scares you.The uniforms the skins wear are getting old to some point.I guess it's hard to break old habits.I wouldn't mind seeing a change to the uniforms. The burgundy and gold mix done right would be awesome.
