Kyle Turley

Post by eread »

Happy Friday! What do you all think about trying to pick up Kyle Turley? The Rams are going to dump him and we need a tackle. He would bring an additude to the game( which we need...epecially Samuels) and with Jansen back and draft a center............NICE LINE!!!

Why do we need a tackle when we have Samuels and Jansen?

I have a suggestion with what to do with all these malcontents, me-me-me players. I think one team in the league should be the dumping ground for immensely talented, tremendously self-centered players like Turley, Moss, TO, Corey Dillon, and a bunch of others... IT would be the ultimate experiment--unlimited talent but no team chemistry. Let's see what happens.

Which team? Clearly, the Raiders have been trying to do this on their own for years. Let's just make it official.

Turley is not self centered, where did you get this idea?

I think he has serious back problems. He can play center, right?

Turley has been a problem child since he entered the league. Remember the helmet throwing incident, then just recently, he had a big blow-up with Martz. I think this guys is full of himself and definately not a Redskins-type player. Why do you think the Saints and now the Rams have bailed on him?

The helmet throwing incident was awesome! Someone came after his QB and was engaging in an illegal attack and Turley ripped off his helmet and got his arse out of the pile. Turley is a good teammate and the "blowup" with Mike Martz was because Martz questioned his dedication...

He's just passionate, that's all.

helmet throwing incident??? what the hell are you talking about?? if turley was healthy i would take him in a heart beat. that helmet incident happened because someone was trying to make aaron brooks kiss his own ass. turley was defending his QB. i love that fire... a guy willing to defend his team at all costs. skins had a player like that once, brian mitchell. i'll take turley. that being said, it wont happen because of the tackles we already have.

Give me a break! THat was childish behavior that cost him and his team. How was throwing a helmet defending his quarterback?

Tre Johnson defended his quarterback. Turley was just out of control. He has no self-discipline.

"Roid rager"?? ok that was a "smart" comment considering that this isn't baseball and the NFL has the stingiest drug testing in pro sports. So we would rather have our O-line act like they did when ebenezer ekuban was dragging jeff george around the dallas turf and sit there with their eyes diverted. Don't say he deserved it either, he was still wearing burgandy and gold at the time.
Turley snapped but that was a brutal thing that happened to Brooks.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

Tre Johnson? I like the guy. Does anyone have any stories about him? I'd like to know whatyou mean about him protecting his QB.

No thanks. Turley is not needed. We have other far more pressing needs. He was interviewed last night on ESPN about the Martz fight, the injury, etc. Just plain and simple, not potential Redskin material under Joe Gibbs.

Some desperate team will trade for him though...

I have been thinking about this in the back of my head. I guess we don't need an OT but if Jansen isn't 100%, perhaps he can play guard and Turley can take over the RT spot. Just a thought.

Not saying that we need him, but we need a capable backup just incase we have a repeat of last season.

i remember seeing this and being infuriated at 2 things:

1. ekuban should have been penalized (how on EARTH did the refs miss that???), and ejected from the game. he also should have been at least suspended, if not kicked out of the league. it is absolutely sick to do something like that.

2. our OL just standing around doing nothing. it is their job to protect the quarterback. there should have been a BRAWL. i don't care what penalty we might get, you can NOT let that happen! someone should have ripped ekuban's helmet off and smashed him over the bare head with it, smash his damn skull in.

kyle turley is a guy who would've done that. he stood up for his QB aaron brooks when he was being ASSAULTED, when the refs did NOTHING. any decent person on that team should look at him as a hero, a leader. if only every player were that passionate. let me ask you, what other time has turley lost his temper and gotten a big penalty? if ever, then certainly no more than any other typical player, who makes an occaisonal stupid penalty.

so his attitude, his passion, is every reason to GET him, not to avoid him. but of course there are other issues- his back, how much money would he want, what about our other tackles, etc. i don't know enough about all of that. but i say if we can sign him at a reasonable price, why not? this year proved how desperately valuable OL depth is.

A lot of the things people are saying about this guy could also be said about my boy Sean Taylor...

If T.O was dragging Smoots scrawny behind around malicously I bet you Sean Taylor would tackle him. Sean would take his head off. I'd hate to see him get ejected, but I can't say that if my teammate was being harmed needlessly in a game that I wouldn't go over and do something about it. I can't say that I haven't either...Image

that's all i'm saying... saying Turley had roid rage is a dumb comment, Turley was simply defending his teammate and QB. Who wouldnt want to see Jansen trying to rip off Trotters head????
Anyway I'm not saying turley should be aquired but if there was a possibility that he could play guard, then who knows?? i like his fire.

I love the:

"How is throwing a helmet defending the QB?"
comment... lol, saying something like that out loud is one thing... but typing it and THEN hitting send is another... oh man, why would you say something that foolish?

If healthy I would love to have Turley! He is a beast! How could someone not want him? He blew up at Martz after Matrz called him a thief and a goldbricker. I would have blown up at my boss if he said the same thing to me. I don't care where we play him, but this offense hasn't had any fire since B'Mitch and Tre Johnson left!

I could make a big old jar of "patjam" out of this if I wanted to. This is more fun, though.
