Vinnie C

Post by BossHog »

... couldn't find this posted anywhere...

Yesterday on NFL Network they interviewed My Cousin Vinny at the Senior Bowl.

He stated pretty emphatically that the Redskins needs were offense first and a mind to shore up the defense next in the offseason.

He did confirm that this Joe Gibbs soundbyte about not 'coaching for long' is just that -- a sound byte. He even light-heartedly poked fun at the media for reporting so irresponsibly.

He didn't say too much else of any value.

For some reason... he didn't look as shifty as he normally does. :hmm:

Coffee runs must have humbled him a little. :-"
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Reminds me of a Mugatu quote in the movie Zoolander:

actually, I thought he did tip his hand on a couple of things.

1) He said first of all we need to sign our free agents. Not that that's news, but at least he's signalling a commitment to get the players who performed well back on board. Whether that includes Smoot, we'll have to see.

2) He said we need to upgrade on offense's ability to make the big play, he cited a statistic about having the fewest plays over 20 yards and said the team needs somebody that can stretch the field. That, to me, is a clear sign they will target a receiver either in free agency or the draft.

3) He went on to say that they needed to be solid up front: Translation: we need another O-lineman.

4) He did say that although the defense played great, they do need to fill some positions on that side of the ball.

I thought Vinny said all the right things...

I could do Vinny's job.

"Yes Dan, I agree. I agree Dan. Yeah, that's a good idea Dan. Yeah, he is good Dan, let's try to get him."
