Take a 9-7?
Would you take a 9-7 record for next year or do you think the Redskins can do better? If you think we could do better, what would we need for this to happen?

Mos Def. I beleive in order to get some attention and to be respected around the league, we need to show our faces with some top dogs after regular season. People are still talking about the Jets, the Chargers, the Colts, but they're all long gone. Put our faces there, and we get noticed.
Yes guys...Randall Moss.

what's a gibba?
Hey, I may have been a little extreme, but my distain for the Cowpukes runs deep. I just don't want to predict again since in the off-season we are so good it's incredible.
I want an improvement over this past year which means 7-9 at least.

I just want as eason that doesnt result in the Eagles playing in the NFC championship game. It's getting to be borderline unwatchable.
I can't wait to see them get their ass kicked in the Super Bowl.

What kind of jerk wishes for a plane crash like that?
So the only way the Skins beet out the Eagles for the Division crown is if the Eagles crash in burn in a plane crash! No, I wouldn't wish that on them, but watching them crash and burn in Jax will be enough for me!
To both you and Wonkers all I can say is wait until next season! And you're both crazy if you think that the Skins won't be able to compete! Now does that mean if someone made me bet my pay check on the NFC East Champ for next year I would put it on that feather plucking team from West Jersey, of course I would puke afterwards.

to all those who think the skins won't be able to compete with philly, i remind you that the redskins came pretty close to beating philly both times this year (1st game's score doesn't reflect how close it was for most of the game).
that being said, we will probably find a way to suck next year. i'm sick of getting my hopes up every offseason and being disappointed. i am expecting maybe 7-9 next year (though of course i hope for 9-7 or 10-6).

My predictions on 2005:
1-0 49ers - If we lose here, we're looking at 5-11 again.
2-0 Seahawks -- Not convinced this team is behind Holmgren.
3-0 Raiders -- See 49ers comment
3-1 Chargers -- Marty will get them ready for Danny Boy.
4-1 Bears -- they're an average team.
5-1 Cowboys -- We'll beat them ONCE in 05, finally!
6-1 Giants -- an average team
6-2 Eagles -- they're still better than us
7-2 Cardinals -- an average team
7-3 Rams -- a good team, especially at their home...
7-4 Broncos -- If home- we win. In den -- champ wins
8-4 Chiefs -- no defense, we'll get 24-30 pts here...
9-4 Buccs -- not a scary team even in TB
9-5 Cowboys -- A team with an avg QB & Wr beats us
10-5 Giants -- still an average team
10-6 Eagles -- We just can't beat them.
Of course, this is all based on what these teams did in 04 (except for us!). It's possible, one of the "average" teams could step up in 05 but I also think a good team, in 04, will take a step back.
Please respond...

2-14 with two wins against the Cowboys wouldn't be all that bad of a year, really.
I'd take 9-7, even if that doesn't get into the playoffs. With a winning record, consistency in coaching, players that are continuing to get comfortable in the system (Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis), it would be a season of mostly ups, even without a playoff spot.
. . .as long as we get a win (at least) against Dallas.
